We recently loved showing our new Chief Engagement and Growth Officer, Kelli, around — and she couldn’t resist taking some honey home to enjoy with the family!

We’re excited to share some more great news with our community.

We recently welcomed Jo Malone as our new Chief Services & Employment Officer, supporting the ongoing development of our services and future employment opportunities.

We’re now delighted to welcome Kelli Browne, who has joined Distinctive Options as our new Chief Engagement & Growth Officer.

Kelli brings experience across disability, health, community services and government, and shares our values-led approach to supporting people to live meaningful lives. She’ll be working closely with our teams, community and partners to strengthen connection, build trusted relationships and help us better share the impact of our work.

Kelli’s role will help ensure Distinctive Options continues to grow in ways that reflect who we are, grounded in respect, inclusion and strong community connection, while supporting positive outcomes for the people we support.

These appointments form part of the continued strengthening of our leadership team as Distinctive Options moves into its next chapter. We also look forward to welcoming our final executive appointment in February, our new Chief Financial & Services Officer.

We’re excited to share some great news with our community.

Jo Malone has joined Distinctive Options as our new Chief Services and Employment Officer.

Jo brings strong experience across disability and community services, along with a genuine commitment to supporting people, teams and meaningful employment pathways. In her role, Jo will work closely with our frontline staff and leaders to strengthen service quality, build sustainable employment opportunities, and support inclusive participation for the people we support.

A key focus of Jo’s work will be ensuring our services and employment programs continue to evolve in ways that respond to community need, support long-term opportunities, and create positive outcomes now and into the future.

Jo’s appointment is part of a broader strengthening of our leadership team, with two additional senior leaders joining in the coming weeks to support our organisation as we continue to grow and evolve.

We’re really pleased to welcome Jo and look forward to this next chapter at Distinctive Options.

🌟 Mark’s Independent Living Supports 🌟

As part of his Independent Living Supports, Mark likes to focus some of his time on his health and fitness. This week, he enjoyed getting out and about, staying active, and making the most of the exercise equipment along the Rosenthal Walkway. 💪🚶‍♂️

Mark worked through different pieces of equipment, building his strength and keeping his body moving while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings. It was a great opportunity for him to practise healthy habits and boost his wellbeing.

Well done, Mark! 👏

✨ A new year means new adventures! ✨

Corinne, Amelia and Lucas recently explored an ultra-realistic underwater wonder world at Dreamskape 🐠🧜‍♀️

The 3D film made them feel as though they were truly surrounded by sea life and mermaids — an experience so immersive it felt almost real!

So, what did they think?

💬 Amelia said:
“I felt a bit dizzy as they were swimming towards me!”

💬 Corinne said:
“I would go again, but the sharks made me nervous!”

Support worker Veronica was on hand to support the activity as part of Sunbury’s Extended Hours Program, which runs during school holidays and at selected weekends and weeknights throughout the year.

Extended Hours activities can include trips to see a show, enjoying a meal at a restaurant, or a paint and sip night.

We’re so fortunate to live and work in some of the most incredible places across Australia — and Hanging Rock is definitely one of them. 🌿

If you’ve been following Cameron’s adventures, you’ll know he loves exploring local culture and history — whether that’s visiting a gallery, attending a sporting event, or discovering a great lunch spot.

Recently, Cameron travelled with Independent Living support from Jacquie at Distinctive Options to visit the legendary Hanging Rock near Woodend in Central Victoria.

While there, he spotted kookaburras in the stunning natural reserve and enjoyed seeing the sculpture inspired by Joan Lindsay’s famous mystery novel, Picnic at Hanging Rock.

What a memorable day out exploring one of Victoria’s most iconic landmarks! 📸✨
