Radial Pressure Wave (RPW)/ Shockwave Therapy

Got an injury that isn’t responding to other treatments? Check out the video below of our new Shockwave machine for treating conditions and injuries like:

Achilles Tendinopathy
Plantar fasciitis and fasciopathy
Medial tibial stress syndrome
ITB syndrome
Shin Splints
Heel pain
Bursitis
Arch Pain
Plantar Fibroma

We are always looking for the latest and most effective treatment options to help our patients recover from injuries faster and get back to doing what they want to achieve their goals.

RPW or Shockwave is a new treatment technology we have available at Footsure Podiatry. It is a non-invasive, fast treatment option for a number of conditions with minimal side effects. Evidence in multiple studies has shown RPW or shockwave therapy achieves results for a number of conditions as a result of;

-Reduced inflammation
-Stimulating Increased healing
-Reduced pain following treatment
-Faster recovery from injury and pain

Who can it help?

Shockwave therapy is beneficial for patients with painful soft tissue (muscle, tendons and ligaments), joint and bone conditions. The therapy can help those with sports or overuse injuries that have not been responding to other treatments.

Shockwave research studies show it is an effective treatment option for a number of conditions we see regularly at Footsure Podiatry, including:

How does it work?

Check out the video below where Zoe explains a bit more about shockwave and demonstrates how it works on Ben.

⚠️ Isolation Injuries: Things to look out for ⚠️

Everyone's routine has changed with work, home and their exercise.

In the clinic, we've seen a bunch of injuries recently by people who have ramped up their exercise too fast.

In this video we'll talk about what can happen, why it happens and how to prevent it.

Things such as walking around the house without shoes on hardwood floors when you're not used to it can even be a problem.

Sore joints, soft tissues injuries, corns and callouses are all common problems we're seeing.

Also - people are walking way more than usual, sometimes only wearing a pair of thongs - which typically won't be great for our feet.

👟 Be wary of how quick you increase your exercise levels.

👟 Ensure you have good runners, mix it up with non-load bearing exercise like swimming and bike riding.

And if you have a ni**le and it's not getting better, give us a call and we'll check it out.

TeleHealth is now available at Footusure Podiatry.

What is TeleHealth?

We are using an online video conferencing platform to allow us to connect with clients to assess, diagnose and give management/treatment program advice including exercise prescription remotely.

Who is it for???

In this challenging time of the Covid-19 we still want to be available to help our clients suffering foot or leg problems. Telehealth allows us to assess, diagnose and manage many foot and leg conditions remotely via online consultation.

For those that are not able to come to the clinic, TeleHealth can be a great option to still get help with your problem.

This may be those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Rural clients that are unable to travel to the clinic or want help from anywhere! It is also a good option for those that are time-poor and need more flexible appointments without having to travel to the clinic.

You can book online or call us to arrange an appointment. Please allow 1-2 days before your appointment to get everything in order.

We are Open!

Hi everyone, we just wanted to let everyone know we are still open and have availability for appointments in the clinic.
**As per Prime Minister Morrison's address last night we remain essential services and have been advised to continue to stay open by the Health minister and our Podiatry Association where practicable.**

We have made some changes in the clinic to follow all government regulations and department of health precautions however there is minimal disruption to clinic services.

If you are unable to come to the clinic we have set up TeleHealth for use for online consultations where we can assess diagnose and give treatment and management plans for many foot and leg problems.

We will post more on Telehealth later today but do have online bookings available for this service we ask that you book 1-2 days in advance to allow time to set up the technology rather than same day appointments.

As is standard now if you are feeling unwell or have been advised to self-isolate by a government authority please call us to reschedule your appointment.

Stay safe, wash your hands, keep your distance and look after each other.
