Book Week.

I absolutely love book week but I usually find them hard. When Charlotte was little I was a single Mumma working full time- so even with my creative skills and love I was always so busy (and have crap organisation) so never felt like I succeeded at Book Week.

Now with these two littles I’ve thrown on various dress ups on Elo and Angus has worn his Spider-Man Costume and flatly refused to wear anything else!

Except for yesterday. Eloise wore her pretty dress and picked out her own props again - declaring herself ‘Juicer Girl’. Angus had been quoting the Wise Old Elf from Ben and Holly a lot so I asked if he wanted to dress up as him - and he said YES!

Completely over the moon, and as we are in lockdown not giving a flying fig how late we were to daycare, I looked around the house for something that would work for the costume and that Ang would find acceptable.

He was sooo proud of his hat - even if it did keep falling off 🤣 he even picked the leaf out himself.

I might not get this mother gig perfect all of the time, but perfect moments like this is what makes it the best experience 🥰

If you’re a Mumma, Daddy, or carer who loathes the pressure of book week, I feel you. If you absolutely love book week I feel you too! I’m an in-between-er….feeling frazzled and like a failure most of the week, and feeling pretty bloody special and blessed to have magnificent moments like this 💙

I had a dream last night…..

I walked around a corner of a fence and then suddenly everything went dark, I was being attacked by a group of men. Unsure how many. I was hooded and beaten into an instant submission (into an inability to fight back) before the first one went to r**e me.

Then my perspective shifted to me being the person who was with me, I saw how quickly I had been beaten so in that split second I made the choice to not struggle and sure enough the attackers didn’t bother to restrain me well, thinking I wasn’t a fighter. I was being pulled down as the sun shone brightly in the clear blue sky. Once I realised they had underestimated me I struck out, over and over, I got one man with several blows to his head that only seemed to annoy him. Then all their hands were on me, dragging me down. I screamed and screamed for someone, anyone to hear me, before the bag went over my head. I too would be r**ed. I would be killed for getting so far into my own defence. And there’s no one to avenge me.

No one and no hope.

I woke up screaming. Scared my 3yr old who had crawled into bed with me.

The feeling of how close to home this was all happening scared me. My hair hurt where I had goosebumps over my head. I felt sick and violated.

I felt fear.

And I am home, safe and warm in Australia.

How do the women of Afghanistan feel? The terror of that moment when I woke being felt for every moment of their sleeping and waking moments….

Great day in the sunshine today….Spring is coming!!!

Yes, we are in lockdown, again, for some of us there was never a break from it.
I’m thinking of you all, everyone. For me personally I think this one is going to be especially tough….I broke my two month stint of no wine and I’ve almost polished the bottle…..

Tomorrow, I will use my oils. I have SO many of them and I love them all…so tomorrow….tomorrow is a new day.

3 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗶𝗹𝘀.
𝘌𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 & 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘦.

𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙡 ~ not all essential oils are created equal (even when the packaging says 100% pure, it’s not likely to be). Please do not consume essential oils without doing research first!
dōTERRA’s essential oil range have many oils that are labeled safe to consume, but not all. Just as not all plants are safe to consume.
🍋 An example of one essential oil I like to consume is Lemon ~ I’ll often add it to my water for both flavour and as a detox.

𝙏𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 ~ when applying essential oils topically, directly onto your skin, it is advised to use a carrier oil. There’s a few reasons for this;
1. A carrier oil will assist in the essential oil being absorbed into your skin.
2. A carrier oil will allow you to apply the essential oil to a larger area.
3. To reduce the risk of skin irritation (although highly unlikely with Certified Pure Ther**eutic Grade essential oils, in rare cases this can still occur).

𝘼𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘 ~ an effective way to have an impact on brain chemistry is to use essential oiks aromatically, either by breathing them in from the bottle or palm of your hands, or via diffusing.
It’s important to diffuser essential oils rather than the more commonly method of ‘burning’ as heating essential oils will damage the ther**eutic benefits.
