So I’m gonna kick off another mental fitness challenge for men starting next Monday the 29th.

If you’re a man or know one who is motivated to change but feels stuck and needs some help to do so this could really help. It’s all about learning positive skills and applying small changes every day to manage and prevent stress and setup habits for achieving goals and supporting growth.

Healthy relationships and togetherness is about separateness.

In a romantic relationship there’s 3 dimensions: you, the other and what you bring together.

What makes the togetherness special is two people bringing in and being themselves. This is the magic.

Too much togetherness leads to problems. Healthy relationships are maintained by individuals who have the freedom to still do their own thing and be their own person.

I’m lost without you or can’t not be by your side 24/7 are red flags. We must allow ourselves and our partner their own time and space to do their thing, to grow etc. We need this as does the other person.

Without it comes unhealthy patterns, toxicity and worse, codependency.

Two individuals growing within and between each other makes for a very special relationship indeed ☺️💫💙.

Motivation is is a two-way street. It is the carrot and the stick. Moving towards or backing away.

Low or no motivation is often a problem for many but there is no such thing as no motivation. When you feel no motivation you’re stuck in avoidance mode. Motivated by the stick or the negative keeps us stuck.

The trick is to define what you want and be clear on what’s beyond the fear or that which you’re avoiding. We have to create an incentive or a carrot to do things we don’t want to do. The positive is on the other side of the negative. Confronting and overcoming the negative is the positive and what truly leads to growth and a core of mental fitness.

Don’t say no motivation. Ask what am I avoiding. Define it. Own it. Deal. Overcome it and you will feel positive and ‘motivated’ and simply good about yourself cos you’re no longer avoiding things.

Motivation always comes from action.
