The best support starts with the right questions. A genuine support worker is curious in a respectful way. They ask about how you’re feeling and what’s happening beyond the surface. When someone takes the time to ask, it shows they’re building support around your life, not a checklist. And that's exactly what we want for our clients.

Our goal isn't just to provide support. We want to build genuine relationships that help people feel valued and live life to the fullest.

Who’s eligible to access NDIS funding?

Knowing whether you or a loved one can access NDIS support is the first step to getting the right help and we’re here to make that process clearer for you.

You may be eligible for the NDIS if you:
✅ Are under the age of 65 years old

✅ Live in Australia and have the right residency status
You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.

✅ Have a permanent or significant disability
The key is that your condition is likely to be lifelong and affects your ability to do everyday tasks.

✅ Need support with daily activities or equipment
If you require help to be more independent at home, in the community, or at work, this could include things like mobility aids, communication tools, support workers, or therapies.

Finding the right support worker can be challenging.

Choosing a support worker isn’t just about who’s available. It’s about finding someone who actually makes your day easier, not more stressful.

Look for someone who:
✅ Communicates clearly and respectfully
✅ Shows up on time and consistently
✅ Brings a positive and patient energy to your day

Whether you’re new to the NDIS or thinking about changing providers, spotting a quality support worker early on is key.

About to attend your first plan meeting?

Your first plan meeting can influence the kind of support you’ll receive for the year ahead. It’s more than just paperwork, it’s your opportunity to speak up for what you need.

✅ Be as honest and detailed as possible about your support needs and goals
Don’t downplay your struggles and be as detailed as possible when describing your needs and goals to make sure the right support is funded.

✅ Bring any relevant medical reports or assessments
Bring any documents that show why you need support and how it helps.

✅ A trusted support person who will accompany you.
Bring someone who knows your situation and can help explain things clearly. This could be a family member, support coordinator, or healthcare professional.
Preparation now can lead to a more flexible, supportive plan that meets your needs and goals.

Getting a new support worker?

Here are few simple questions that can help you both feel more comfortable and aligned.

➡️ What do you need to know about me to support me better?
This helps them understand your preferences, routines, and boundaries.

➡️ Are you comfortable supporting me with _______ (your personal goal/task)?
This question ensures they can meet specific parts of your plan or goals.

➡️ How can I tell you if I’m not happy with something?
You should always feel safe to speak up.

Why setting the right NDIS goals matters.

The goals you set dictate how your plan is funded and how you use it. They guide the supports and services available to you, and they give you a way to measure progress and celebrate achievements.
Here are a few tips to help you set meaningful goals:

✅ Start broad, then get specific
Begin with something simple, like “I want to stay independent at home.” Over time, you can add details such as home modifications or daily support. Broad goals keep your options open as your needs change.

✅ Think about different areas of your life
For example:
Community: “I want to safely access my local community.”
Social: “I want to build and maintain friendships.”
Health: “I want to maintain my physical strength.”

✅ Make your goals future-proof
Consider what you might need now and later. Choosing flexible goals ensures your supports can adapt as life changes.

✅ Keep goals meaningful to you
The most effective goals are personal. Focus on what makes your life easier, safer, or more enjoyable. Write them in your own words, not what others expect.

Being a support worker isn’t just about being there and completing the tasks for the day. It’s about showing care in every moment.

✅ Listening first and asking how their client feels.
✅ Celebrating every bit of progress.
✅ Showing respect through patience and understanding

Asking how the client feels, noticing their progress, and treating them with respect is what genuine support looks like. Our priority is to make sure our clients feel truly cared for.

Big or small, every achievement matters. Whether it’s trying something new or building a skill, we make sure to celebrate it. We love seeing our clients succeed in their own way. Those moments remind us why genuine care matters when providing support.

Taking the time to value their achievement changes the way support feels. We’re recognising the effort and the growth that made it possible. Celebrating wins helps people see how far they’ve come and motivates them to keep going.
