“The biggest fall down when seeing a therapist is… we do a 45-minute session, and then we might not see you again for a week or more.” 💬
- Laura Simmons, Occupational Therapist & Founder of Theratrak

In time for International Women’s Day on March 8, Theratrak founder Laura Simmons was featured in ACS Information Age, sharing how she used her skills as a paediatric OT to create a health-tech startup after recognising a gap in therapy support between sessions. 🎯

Like many female founders, Laura launched Theratrak with flexibility and purpose in mind - flexibility for Laura as well as therapists using the platform. ⚡

Laura has built Theratrak into an incredibly useful digital platform that helps any therapist to turn what happens in a session into clear, engaging home programs for families. With over 600 pre-loaded activities, the magic of home programs happens with just a few clicks. 📲

Because therapy outcomes don’t just happen within a clinic setting - they happen in the moments between sessions. 💫

Did you know that almost 80% of Australia’s healthcare workforce are women? 💥

In Australia, around 300,000 allied health professionals support people and families every day (Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing) - and the majority of these dedicated clinicians are women (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare - AIHW). 🚀

With March 8 marking International Women’s Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women across allied health who are changing lives every day. 💜

These are the clinicians supporting children, families, and communities - often while navigating growing workloads, complex documentation, and the demands of delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. 🎯

At Theratrak, we believe these professionals deserve systems and tools that support their work - not add to their workload. 💫

Theratrak was created by female founder and paediatric Occupational Therapist Laura Simmons, who set out to help clinicians spend less time on admin and more time doing what they do best: supporting participants and their families. 💚

Thinking about starting something new yourself? Laura shared some advice for emerging women entrepreneurs in Balance the Grind:
✅ Surround yourself with mentors
✅ Find (or build) your network
✅ Focus on taking the next step

Send this post to a woman in allied health you admire. 📲

“Collaboration is key when we are working in the care sector.” - Laura Simmons, Occupational Therapist & Founder of Theratrak

Our founder Laura Simmons was recently featured in Issue Four of the 2025 Australian Allied Health Awards Magazine, sharing reflections from the Networking Series event in Sydney and the power of collaboration across the allied health community. 💫

In the piece, Laura shares insights from the road - connecting with clinicians, hearing their stories, and exploring how working together helps strengthen support for participants and families. 💚

And if you know someone doing incredible work in allied health… Nominations for the 2026 Australian Allied Health Awards are now open until 31 May 2026. 🏆

Therapy progress shouldn’t live in a therapist’s memory bank… it should live in a system! 📲

With over 750,000 Australians supported by the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme - and 66% of them under 15 - the need for clear, consistent reporting has never been greater. 📊

More than 170,000 children under 9 currently have an NDIS plan. 🧒
🚀 That’s a lot of families being asked to prove progress.
🚀 A lot of therapists being asked to demonstrate outcomes.
🚀 A lot of time spent rebuilding what already happened during therapy.

Our new Theratrak Progress Reporting Tool is designed to change the stress of therapy admin. 💚

Here’s how clinics are using our new Progress Reporting Tool:

✅ Dropping progress summaries straight into NDIS review reports
✅ Adding evidence into school reports at the end of term
✅ Reviewing weekly or term snapshots to track growth trends
✅ Bringing real data into team meetings to refine goals

We’re so excited about our latest update and newest Reporting Tool so we can:
🎯 Reduce admin and report-writing time
🎯 Make progress easier to demonstrate
🎯 Align daily therapy work with NDIS requirements
🎯 Support families with clearer, measurable evidence

Now...
💫 Therapists are spending less time chasing information.
💫 Clinic owners can be more consistent and confident in outcomes.
💫 Families can share progress that’s visible and easier to advocate for.

Therapists are already doing the hard work supporting thousands of participants. Now this progress is even easier to showcase. ⭐

Reporting doesn’t have to feel like a stressful deadline hanging over your head. 😅

Reporting doesn’t have to mean late nights. 🌞
Or emotional support snacks. 🍎
Or trying to piece together progress from memory. 🧠

Our latest Theratrak update is designed to make reporting clearer, calmer, and way more manageable. 📊

Because when…

✔️ Progress is already tracked
✔️ Engagement is already visible
✔️ Evidence is already organised

…reporting stops feeling like a scramble and starts feeling like confidence. 🚀

Using Theratrak isn’t about adding more admin. It’s about making the work you’re already doing easier to show. Our founder has been working towards our latest update for awhile - and we’re so excited for how much time we’re going to save therapists. 🎯

Less scrambling. More breathing space. Less stress. More structure. 🌈

Therapists deserve systems that support them - not more things that sit on their to-do list. 💚

If you’re ready for therapy progress reporting that is simple, useful and game-changing for long-term insights - it’s here! Sign up for a FREE 30-day trial on our website. ⬇️

“Parents are often expected to track and justify their child’s progress - but they’re not in the therapy room.” - Laura Simmons, OT & Founder of Theratrak 💬

And yet… parents are the ones asked to explain outcomes. To advocate for their kids. To prove progress from therapy sessions, practice and reports. 📝

According to the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme NDIS data, over 750,000 Australians are supported - with 66% under the age of 15. More than 170,000 children under 9 currently have an NDIS plan and ~10% of all AUS children 5-7 years old are NDIS participants. 📊

⚡ That’s a lot of families being asked to speak to progress.
⚡ A lot of therapists being asked to justify outcomes.
⚡ A lot of pressure on systems that weren’t built for clarity.

At Theratrak, we’ve always focused on meaningful engagement - because when participants engage, they build independence and better long-term outcomes. 🚀

But what if progress didn’t have to be pieced together later? 🤔

What if clarity was built in from the beginning? 🎯

Something new is coming to Theratrak…. 💫

Designed to make therapy progress clearer. Evidence easier to access. And conversations about outcomes much simpler! ✔️

Stay tuned for more updates coming really soon! 👀

Maybe your clinic isn’t bad at tech… Maybe your tech just doesn’t speak your love language. ❤️

Ever introduced a shiny new platform… only for it to gather digital dust? 👀

We took a playfully serious look at the 5 Love Languages of Allied Health Clinicians - and what that means for digital tools in 2026. 🚀

Because when tech doesn’t:
💬 Show progress
🛠️ Reduce admin
⏳ Support onboarding
🎁 Offer helpful extras
📲 Feel intuitive and easy

…it doesn’t get used. It gets ignored! 🙈

At Theratrak, we’ve worked hard to speak all five love languages - so your tech actually feels like a partner in care, not another task on your to-do list. 🤩

We’re on a mission to have less abandoned logins, less frustration and less burnout. 🔥

We want all therapists to feel more support, more clarity and more confidence. 💚

Burnout? Not on our 2026 bingo card! 🐨

Last year, therapists told us what burnout looked like:
📅 Back-to-back sessions with zero breathing room
🥪 Eating lunch while typing notes
📞 That “quick call” that stole your whole afternoon
☕ Coffee as a food group (!)

We get it. Allied health professionals already give so much. But in 2026, it’s time to give back to yourself too. 💫

Theratrak was built to help you:
✅ Streamline home programs
✅ Save hours on admin
✅ Track progress with less stress
✅ Support clients and your own wellbeing

About us

Theratrak's mission

To break down the barriers that people face when accessing health care including distance, time and cost.

About the founder

Laura is a passionate paediatric occupational therapist, helping families and working with children living with range of disabilities. Laura has worked in the private health sector for over 5 years, and in this time has noticed a distinct lack of innovative technology solutions targeting the ongoing care of clients outside of direct therapy and how this is impacting the client’s overall treatment.
