Welcome to 2026: The Golden Era in Medical Tourism
Since the early development of medical tourism, I have personally has worked closely alongside Bangkok Hospital Siriroj and Head Office National Healthcare (BDMS) since 2007, helping shape Thailand’s emergence as pioneers and global leaders in medical and dental tourism.
Recent conversations coming out of Bangkok—including insights shared by Tanupol Virunhagarun ,MD Virunhagarun, CEO of BDMS Wellness Clinic Wellness Clinic—reflect a global shift that has been building for years. Medical tourism is evolving into integrated, science-led wellness, anchored in preventive medicine, advanced diagnostics, and long-term outcomes.
Following Dr. Tanupol’s keynote on Wellness Business Trends in Thailand and the Global Landscape, it’s timely to see these conversations continue here in Australia.

But now, I want to work at a higher level direct with hospitals, surgeons and governments. I want to help shape ethical, safe, and sustainable medical tourism systems that protect patients — and raise the bar.
This isn’t just a study decision. It’s a career pivot. A passion project. A calling.
