By the year 2050, the amount of plastic found in the ocean is projected to exceed that of fish. In New South Wales, 23% of the trash on the streets originates from food and drink packaging. Actions taken on land impact the marine environment. Make the change to reusable options today.

🥡 Takeaway is great. Heck on a busy day it can be a lifesaver. But the wasteful single-use packaging it comes in? It's a huge source of waste in Australia. Sure it can sometimes be recycled, but the reality is that most of it isn't. 😬

🌏 The good news is this is a problem we can fix - because switching to a reusable is pretty easy.

For many of us a takeaway lunch is one of the joys of working life, but the single-use packaging it comes in? It's one of the most common causes of litter in our cities and oceans.⁠

Yes, many food places have switched to cardboard alternatives, but they often still have plastic lids or coatings making them unsuitable for composting. And they are still single-use. ⁠

We haven't fixed our waste problem, we've just changed it.⁠
