Changing your lifestyle and changing your life doesnโ€™t mean YOU change, it doesnโ€™t make you a different person, it doesnโ€™t mean that youโ€™re better than anybody else.. it means that you have simply made the decision to do something for YOURSELF and to BETTER yourself, to set challenges for yourself and to SMASH goals, it doesnโ€™t mean I think everybody should do what I do, because everyone is different, it means I want to inspire and encourage people to do something for themselves & be empowered, healthy and happy.
Health is wealth after all!

Embarking on this journey has been a life changer, for my health, my mindset and my confidence in myself.
Iโ€™m not perfect, Iโ€™m only human and I do fall off the wagon occasionally but Iโ€™m consistent most of the time and that is what I want to get across in my story, that normal everyday people can do this and can be successful on their health journey ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ

Itโ€™s about making changes each day that are better than the decision we made yesterday, itโ€™s about enjoying the process and living your life in a positive way. Forward moving and goal driven instead of negative and having that โ€˜I canโ€™tโ€™ attitude.

If you do one thing this yearโ€ฆ..do something that empowers you. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ You just never know when something will walk into your life that can absolutely change it for the betterโ€ฆ.

FACTS OF THE DAY .. WHO KNEW?

Cucumbers... I didn't know this... and to think all these years I've only been making salads with the cucumbers...

1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber. Cucumbers are a good source of B vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemicals in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!!

7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don't have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!

10. Stressed out and don't have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber will react with the boiling water and be released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown the reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the phytochemicals will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your taps, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the
shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

13. Using a pen and made a mistake? Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

Here are my 6 tips I want to share with you when it comes to your health and wellness journey ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ

1๏ธโƒฃ Consistency is key! I will never stop saying this. Eating a salad one day is not going to make you healthy just like eating a burger another day isnโ€™t you getting off track. Itโ€™s what you do consistently that will guarantee your results. Following the program is necessary when it comes to progressing towards your goals.

2๏ธโƒฃ Food is fuel. To gain lean muscle and lose body fat you need to eat! Under eating is just as damaging as over eating. Stop looking at certain food groups as the enemy and learn to nourish your body with the food it needs to feel itโ€™s best. Find joy in the foods you eat.

3๏ธโƒฃ Your journey is a learning experience. You donโ€™t/shouldnโ€™t have it all figured out- you learn as you grow! Try to enjoy the journey. Even as a Gut Health Mentor I am constantly still learning something new daily and watching my body continuously transform is incredible.

4๏ธโƒฃ When it comes to wanting to change your body shape - you must do it from a place of love, always! Appreciate what your body can do.

Stop caring what others think of you, stay in your lane and remember your WHY!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I am sure youโ€™ve heard this before. Itโ€™s true.
Benefits of eating breakfast include more energy, better attention span, more alert + productive, helps you maintain a healthy weight, helps you reach your daily nutrition goals and it shows a good example for your kids. These are all true if you eat a HEALTHY breakfast โ€“ clean eating breakfast only! No sugary cereals, no donuts!
A real healthy clean eating breakfast filled with good nutrients can change the way you feel everyday. If you find yourself eating badly in the mornings, change your habits to good ones for a couple weeks and see the change.

Are you one of the 43% of adults who drinks less than four cups of water a day?

HEALTH ALERT: thatโ€™s NOT enough water!!

The problem is that you may be dehydrated and not even realize that your food cravings or constant feelings of exhaustion are because youโ€™re dehydrated daily.

Water is a critical nutrient for our body. Did you know that our bodies are 60% water?

The most obvious reason we need H20- We need it for hydration because we will literally die of dehydration without it.

Your muscles need water for recovery so if youโ€™re not drinking enough you won't see all the benefits of your hard work.

You need it for digestion- fiber binds with water so you canโ€™t digest fiber, if you donโ€™t have enough water.

If youโ€™re thirsty you will feel hungry and end up eating more, when you actually just need to drink more water.

If youโ€™re well hydrated your heart can pump your blood easier and that brings oxygen and nutrients to your muscles to help you exercise more efficiently.

And thereโ€™s tons of other reasons too- it improves your skin, lubricates your joints, helps with weight loss too.

Is it possible to drink too much water? Technically yes, but you would have to drink 1 liter per hour all day to over hydrate so the only people that are usually in danger of this are professional athletes, triathletes.

So how do you make sure youโ€™re getting enough water?
On our program we recommend you drink 3๏ธโƒฃ litres of water a day.
My biggest tip is to drink when youโ€™re not thirsty.
Drink (500ml) before each meal. This will also help you not eat as much if you fill up on water.
Drink 500ml as soon as you wake up in the morning.
So 500ml before 3 meals and 500ml as soon as you wake up, youโ€™re already at 2L for the day!
So, itโ€™s not as hard as you might think!

Your health, your fitness and your overall WELL-BEING is fundamentally the most important thing that you have, so take care of it, look after it, nourish it and most importantly, start enjoying it!

When you switch your mindset from looking at your health and fitness as a โ€œchoreโ€ you just tick it off the to-do list. Instead, start to embrace it as your daily ritual, more like your daily dose of therapy, you will start to see some incredible shifts and changes from within and out.

Dont just eat better to lose weight, donโ€™t just workout to look fit. A healthy lifestyle isnโ€™t meant to be done in the old โ€œcookie cutterโ€ way of eating bland meals for lunch and dinner and training at high intensity and high volume all the time.
HAVE FUN with creating a healthy lifestyle that is going to make you happy! Try new things, add variety and spice to your regime. Enjoy the foods you eat and enjoy the workouts you choose to do. If it doesnโ€™t feel good, find something that does.

Iโ€™ve come to learn and love that fueling my body with nutrient dense foods and moving my body in so many different ways are the key elements to feeling my best and living a vibrant healthy longevity fulfilled life.
