Want to know the secret to a great skin care routine? Being sun safe.
Australia has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world and it is the most common cancer affecting young Australians.
Overexposure to UV radiation from the sun causes more than 95% of skin cancers.
The good news? Skin cancers can be easily prevented by protecting your skin outdoors.
Remember to:
- slip on clothing that covers your shoulders, arms and legs, it’s one of the most effective ways to protect your skin
- slop a SPF 50+, broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen to create a barrier between UV and your skin
- slap on a sun safe hat that protects your face, ears and neck.
- seek shade whenever you can. Shade alone can reduce UV exposure by up to 75%
- slide on sunglasses that meet Australian Standard AS1067 and fit your face to reduce UV exposure to your eyes.

The NSW Government has invested $632 million in the Stage 2 redevelopment of Campbelltown Hospital, delivering contemporary health care services for the community.
Construction started in late 2019. The project is being delivered by Health Infrastructure in partnership with South Western Sydney Local Health District and is due for completion in late 2023.
A new clinical services building will be delivered and existing buildings will be refurbished. More clinical services and medical specialities will be available at the hospital, providing the local community with access to a broad range of healthcare close to home.
The redevelopment will also improve our ability to manage more patients, provide better access to hospital services, food and retail outlets, a multi-storey car park and more employment opportunities.
