2025 Welcome to the Year of the Yin Snake

Gong Xi Fa Cai!
The mystical Snake is a yin-natured animal who likes to rest in the sun, but can strike quickly when needed. It is tenacious and this year is good to seek out what you want and work diligently to attain it. This is a great year to deepen intuitive qualities, utilizing the intelligence, wisdom and instincts of the snake.

Healthwise, the Year of the Snake is a good one, but it is a time to be mindful of overeating and excessive drinking. The snake represents the small intestine organ, so we need to be aware not to overwhelm the digestive system.

2024 Yang Wood Dragon

Xin Nian Kuai Li!
The mystical dragon rises and recharges our Qi in 2024. A time to cleanse body, mind and spirit before metamorphosis and transformation.

The Wood Dragon influence is suggestive of a year of adopting healthier lifestyles and practice. One recommendation would be to follow the same requirements as the dragon and exercise for 30 mins several times a week, particularly cardiovascular workouts like yoga or qigong or soothing our wood element with walks in the forest.

2023 Welcome the year of the Yin Water Rabbit

Following the dynamic year of the Tiger, we are fully awake for the Year of the Rabbit. The rabbit symbolizes patience and luck, this means biding your time until the moment is right, this year will bring lucky breaks. 2023 will bring less anger and more relaxation.

The gentle and amicable Water Rabbit is able to adjust readily to different conditions.

“The rabbit represents thunder shaking the ground which unlocks our true nature and propels us forward”. CT Holman

Tiny pins for health and beauty.

In a Facial Acupuncture treatment small cosmetic needles are placed in specific points on the face. This results in micro-injury boosting collagen production, increased micro circulation to the face and skin cell turnover, muscle regeneration to improve tone and texture, and activation of the lymphatic system - decreasing puffiness.

The treatment includes an LED session as well as specific Gua Sha Facial techniques to further elevate beauty results.

This commonly used acupuncture point is found in the middle of the 2nd metacarpal bone on the radial side, called LI4 or Hegu (Union Valley).
Noteworthy for its effectiveness at stopping pain and considered the most important analgesic point in the body, used for many painful conditions.

This point is has many other benefits including improving immune system, regulating excessive sweating, helping problems with the face, toothache, headache, influencing circulation of qi and blood and promoting labor in childbirth.

Often combined with LR3 (previous post) - known as the ‘Four Gates’. Together working to circulate qi and blood throughout the body, opening meridians, increasing circulation and easing pain in the body including helping to ease emotions issues such as feeling stuck or trapped.

A commonly used point, on the dorsum of the foot known as Liver 3 or Taichong (Great Surge). In China they often say “Yi Qie Taichong” meaning Liver 3 for everything!

Frequently used because it is considered one of the most important points to move stuck Qi. Hence the name Great Surge or Great Rushing, referring to the function of the point as a great passageway for the flow of Qi.
