Back to Parliament this week for meetings with our elected representatives. Thank you Susan Templeman MP susantemplemanmp for helping kick off the week.
Susan understands the outdoor industry well as the Blue Mountains local member. A great conversation and still so many more to be had on the โ€˜Hillโ€™ about the OCA pre budget submission and the current situation of the outdoor industry.

๐ŸŒฟ Outdoors NSW & ACT is proud to support Bushwalking Womenโ€™s Week ๐ŸŒฟ
๐Ÿ“… 2โ€“8 March

Bushwalking Womenโ€™s Week is a fantastic example of how simple, local outdoor experiences can create meaningful pathways for women to improve wellbeing, build confidence and connect with their community.

Delivered by Bushwalking NSW and supported by Women NSW, the program features 50+ entry-level bushwalks across NSW, designed to welcome women who may be curious about bushwalking but unsure where to start.

At Outdoors NSW & ACT, we strongly believe that accessible, inclusive outdoor activities play a vital role in:
โœ”๏ธ improving physical and mental wellbeing
โœ”๏ธ strengthening social connection
โœ”๏ธ creating lifelong participation in outdoor recreation

We encourage women across NSW to explore the program, find a local walk, and take that first step outdoors in a supportive setting.

"At the end of the day none of us are tougher than nature, while having good gear is a great place to start itโ€™s not the whole picture. ....Because on top of the big skills like first aid and navigation there are 100 micro skills that all add up to efficient and safe travel in the wilderness" - Well said Adventure Equipment - that is why our industry is here, to keep people be safe in the outdoors and have great experiences as well as teach the skills that can provide so many benefits for their future endeavours.

Being a great facilitator doesnโ€™t automatically make you a great leader.

Stepping into a senior group leader, program coordinator, or director role means more than running great sessions. It means leading people, managing expectations, and making decisions in real-world, high-pressure environments.

The Emerging Leaders Course is a practical, two-day program designed for field-based leaders ready to grow their confidence in people leadership. Through real scenarios and role play, youโ€™ll learn how to shift from technical expert to effective leader โ€” while staying grounded in the realities of on-field work.

If youโ€™re leading staff, managing programs, and balancing safety, logistics, and client experience, this course is for you.
