Today is spent with the family, the biggest Christmas we’ve had for a while.

I’m going to spend some time over the next few days reflecting- 2023 has been a wild ride with a TON of major life changes for me. Thank you for sticking we me through it- I see you ❤️

I started working with women just like you so that you don’t have to go through what I did for so many years. So that you can no longer be controlled by food and go live your best lives!

I spent the majority of my adult life (and teens, let’s be honest) feeling like you.

And that also means there is hope.

I know you feel like you are just meant to be this way. But to be honest, if I can do it with my history, so can you.

❌Your metabolism isn't the reason you've gained weight or struggle to lose it as you get older (and why you need to stop blaming your lack of success on it!)

🤯No really, it's not your metabolism.

I know saying it’s your metabolism gives you comfort, something to blame thats beyond your control.

When in fact your metabolism doesn't slow until you reach you 60s.

Read that again. It doesnt slow until you are in your 60s.

👀Let's have a look at your life now vs in your 20s

✅You walked everywhere (I know I def could't afford a car!)
✅You ate less food (I mean, who could afford it?!)
✅You had less responsibility in life (no mortgage or kids or stressful job or people to feed)
✅You were def less tired
✅You didn't do the supermarket shopping
✅You had more energy
✅You drank less (once or twice a week then doesnt equal the daily drinking now)

The key difference between now and then?

You have more stressed & tired now!

And those are key drivers for you moving less and consuming more Calories.

I am not saying there may be medical reasons. But if your doctor has checked you out and you are healthy? Its not your metabolism.

I said YES!!! 🎉🎉🎉

(No, not 💍🤣, calm down)

I am so proud & excited to announce that I have joined the coaching team at Food Freedom & Mindset Coach] !

When I was asked by Emma .full_coaching it was very easy decision knowing she would be my Head Coach (if not slightly overwhelming!)

And a call with Food Freedom & Mindset Coach] that felt like 5mins (when it was an hour 🤣) sealed the deal.

Thank you both so much for hearing my message, believing in me & just knowing how we would align.

For my current (or those who I’ve had a call with recently) nothing changes! Coaching by Alice will be running along side, exactly the same 😊

This is now starting to sound like acceptance speech for an award, so I’ll end it there 🤣😂

Do it for moments like this ☕️🍰

When mum suggests we stop
and grab a coffee & share a cake.

I remember all too well, how that would send me into a spiral.

🎉 Excited that I had an excuse to eat cake,

😣 yet anxious about how I would make up for the Calories from that 'bad' food later on.

Find a reason OTHER than your body to improve your relationship with food & you might surprise yourself with what you can do!

That you can go out with the girls.
That you've found balance in your life.
Maybe you've even lost a little bit of fat.

How to live a balanced life? Avoid the extremes.

That grey area between the black & white isn't sexy.

But it's what keeps you consistently moving forwards.

Think of it like this (a short story):

You want to train at the gym 5 times a week.

You manage 4 so are disappointed that you failed again,

And don't go at all the next week.

But flip that mindset. Push those boundaries and & comfy in the middle?

You have the same thought, you want to go 5 times.

This time though, you challenge yourself and say 'no, that's extreme, how do I stay in the grey, in the middle?'

You decide that's going 3 times. And as a bonus 4 if you can make it.

So you go 3 times, every week. Sometimes 4. Consistently.

Always take a step back and challenge your thoughts - is that an extreme?
An all or nothing thought? or is that in the middle?
Something you can consistently do?

Everyone is individual. And everyone needs something different.

Even with each cycle, your needs may be different.

Make a decision based on:

🤤 How hunger is impacting your life

🎯 What your goals are

🧘‍♀️ How you feel

📖 Learnings for past events that are similar

Some of my clients eat more at this time, some aren't bothered.

And some are content in just having the knowledge that they know WHY they may be feeling hungrier.

The great news is that having a period means you are healthy 🩸💃

🧘‍♀️Mindfulness gets a lot of s**t for being woo woo.

But tell me, how can you give yourself what you need if you don't know what you actually feel?

I get it.
Still, a lot of the time I have to journal to understand what I am feeling.

I know I feel something, but I don't know what until I write.

And usually,
once I have got that out of me, I'm totally okay and move on.

That is instead of using food to numb, distract or avoid that feeling.

Here's the kicker.

Once you stuff yourself full of that food.

When you get to that point that your stomach hurts.
You can't even lie flat as you've eaten so much (👀 I see you)

The feeling or problem you were trying to hide from or avoid IS STILL THERE.

And the cycle continues.

So sorry not sorry, you NEED to find a way to manage what is happening with your feelings and emotions.

I know you don't want to but it is the only way you will stop that cycle.
