We’ve had a very sad start to 2026 with the sudden loss of our beloved resident, Cliffy.

Cliffy has been a cherished member of the Thorndale community for over 40 years, and his presence, warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for him.

A special thanks goes out to all his support staff over the years across our ADE, LLL and Tandara cottage.

His funeral service will be held next Tuesday 20th January at 12.30pm at Leura Memorial Gardens.

Our thoughts are with Cliffy’s family and all who knew and cared for him at this difficult time.

May he Rest In Peace. 🕊️

🌟 2025 Highlight Reel 🌟

What an incredible year it has been at Thorndale - a year of growth, connection, celebration, and reflection.

✨ We welcomed amazing new staff across all departments, including several newly qualified TAFE graduates who truly shone during their work placements.

✨ Our ADE continued to flourish, welcoming many new supported employee Production Assistants and proudly reaching full capacity - with a waitlist now in place.

✨ We were delighted to welcome new residents Philip, Matthew, Joanne, and Russell into our community.

✨ Our Leisure, Living & LifeSkills Day Program continued its upward momentum, with new high school leavers joining our diverse cohort. Social connections flourished, confidence bloomed, and skills continued to strengthen.

🎉 We celebrated countless memorable moments together - from the Hoe Down and Social Discos to Footy Nights, International Day of People with Disability, and the inspiring Pathway to Employment graduation.

❤️ We also faced moments of deep sadness, with the untimely passing of Rhiannon and our much-loved residents Bobby and Cherie. Their impact remains deeply woven into the heart of Thorndale.

❤️ And we farewelled our CEO of four dedicated years, Cathy Gault, wishing her every success as she returns to her valued role on our Board of Directors.

💛 As we reflect on 2025, we are reminded of the strength, resilience, and spirit of our community.

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes to our incredible staff and leaders, who care for our Thorndale family as if they were their own.

You are the backbone of our organisation, and everything we achieve is because of you.

Here’s to an even brighter 2026 - filled with purpose, connection, and opportunity!

✨ Celebrating Cathy Gault and an Incredible Legacy ✨

As we wrap up the year, we want to take a moment to acknowledge someone who has played a truly significant role in shaping Thorndale over many years.

Earlier this year, Cathy stepped down as CEO - but we’re incredibly fortunate that she isn’t stepping away entirely.
Cathy will continue with us as a valued member of our Board.

With more than 20 years of service, Cathy’s leadership has been defined by vision, resilience and a genuine commitment to people. She has guided Thorndale through growth, change and challenges with integrity, heart and a steady hand.

Cathy has been more than a CEO - she’s been a mentor, a listener, a strategist, and a passionate advocate for our mission.

Her belief in the power of people has helped build the collaborative, supportive culture we’re so proud of today.

Cathy, thank you for everything - your leadership, your kindness, and your unwavering belief in Thorndale. Your legacy will continue to inspire us for many years to come.

💐🤩Thorndale is excited to announce four newly built Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) homes located in a prime, convenient Werrington location - close to local shops, train station, and the upcoming Metro Station!🙌💐

These beautiful new homes will be ready for eligible residents to move in March 2026, and we are now welcoming expressions of interest from participants and families.🏠
