Happy 11-Year Work Anniversary, Aileen! 🎉
When we first met Aileen, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. She came from a corporate background, managing more than 25 Bupa Optical stores — would she fit into our little shop in Northmead?
Eleven years later, the answer is a resounding yes.
Aileen has brought incredible technology and expertise to our community, introducing advanced diagnostics like Optical Coherence Tomography, Meibography and Visioffice. These innovations allow earlier detection of eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration, helping us protect our patients’ vision for the future.
She has also expanded the care we can provide, introducing mini scleral contact lenses for keratoconus — a much more comfortable option for vision correction — and orthokeratology, where specially designed lenses gently reshape the eye overnight so mild to moderate short-sightedness can be corrected while you sleep.
This year Aileen and Daniella even launched their own eyewear line, .au.
Aileen has also brought Behavioural Optometry to the practice, helping children with learning difficulties and supporting patients with symptoms like tired eyes and double vision that aren’t always detected in a standard eye test.
Behind the scenes, she also manages our website, making it simple and convenient for you to reorder your contact lenses.
It’s hard to imagine what Northmead would be like without Aileen. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, innovation and care she has brought to our practice over the past 11 years.
