Recent news about fraud in the NDIS has rocked the disability community, with a provider pleading guilty to defrauding the scheme of over $1 million. It’s stories like these that erode trust—not just for participants, but for every Australian who expects their tax dollars to make a real difference. Today we announced that we've permanently banned and revoked the registration of provider Freedom Care Group Pty Limited, after a joint investigation between the NDIS Commission and the NDIA, enabled by the Fraud Fusion Taskforce, found it had claimed almost $340,000 for NDIS supports and services it did not deliver to people who were incarcerated at the time.
