Moving your body isn’t the problem.
Never letting your body regulate is.
Yes, train. Sweat. Move your body. That’s super important too.
But if every form of “self-care” keeps you in push mode, your nervous system never gets to land.
I see this a lot in the women I work with.
It looks like:
- Snapping at your kids over tiny things
- Being reactive with your partner
- Feeling stressed at work faster than makes sense
- Living slightly on edge
- Holding onto weight despite doing “all the right things”
Here’s the thing, beautiful 👇
High-intensity movement activates cortisol.
That’s not bad, unless it’s the only state your body knows.
Regulation is what tells your body: you’re safe now.
And safety changes everything.
Try adding in a few of these to your day:
- Bare feet in the sand or grass
- Walking slowly in nature (hand on trees if you can)
- Warm water. Baths. Ocean. Floating.
- Sauna + slow breathing
- Sunlight on your skin
- An hour of doing nothing, without guilt (I call this decompression time)
Ahhhh doesn’t that feel good already!?
