Why Haven’t You Heard of Moringa? 🌱❓❗️
At almost every market, someone stops at our stall, looks at the green powder or the oil and asks:
“Moringa? What is it? I’ve never heard of it.”
And yet, Moringa oleifera — often called “The Miracle Tree” or “The Tree of Life” — has been used for centuries across tropical and subtropical regions of the world.
In countries throughout Africa, India, Southeast Asia and parts of Central America, moringa leaves are simply food. They’re added to soups, curries, teas and salads. They’re part of daily life.
So why is it still virtually unknown here?
It’s tempting to say, “Well, pharmaceutical companies can’t patent a tree.” And while that may be partly true, the reality is more layered than that.
Modern health systems are largely structured around patentable compounds, proprietary formulas and high-margin interventions. Whole plants — especially those that grow easily and can be cultivated at home — don’t fit neatly into that model. They’re difficult to monopolize, difficult to control, and difficult to turn into billion-dollar exclusivities.
The video I’m sharing Iin the comments below explores this dynamic in more detail — including how traditional, nutrient-dense plants often fall outside mainstream health conversations, not because they lack value, but because they don’t align with prevailing commercial incentives.
This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness.
When we understand how health information flows — and sometimes doesn’t — we become more empowered to make informed choices for ourselves.
If you’ve ever wondered why moringa is a staple in other parts of the world but still considered “new” here, I think you’ll find this fascinating.
As always, I encourage you to research, stay curious, and decide what feels right for your own body.
With love,
