Tomorrow the calendar turns to a new month, what for Happiness calls New Ways November: a chance to explore fresh experiences that boost happiness, health, and connection.
Their calendar (below) offers daily suggestions to try something new โ big or small โ for a happier, healthier you and community.
Now my dear friend Vi, an energetic octogenarian, has lived this philosophy for donkeys years, taking on new things, big and small: from a new cafe, to tandem skydiving and trying Laughter Yoga! Vi swears that trying new things keeps her young โ and science suggests sheโs absolutely right.
Doing something new is good for us. Routine brings comfort and stability, but it can also put life on autopilot. When we shake things up, we wake up our brains and open ourselves to new possibilities.
If youโre feeling set in your ways, take a peek at the calendar and pick one small action. It could be as simple as switching TV channels, walking a new route, or trying a different recipe.
