The Gap Laughter Club

The Gap Laughter Club in Brisbane is part of the Happydemic sweeping the world. It was established in 2016. June completed her training in 2018.

We create a hub of joy and wellbeing practising laughter yoga in Walton Bridge Reserve, Waterworks Road, The Gap, Brisbane, every Saturday morning. The Gap Laughter Club in Brisbane is a not for profit community-based volunteer-led social group practising Laughter Yoga. The Gap Laughter Club's coordinator is Certified Laughter Yoga Leader June Lennie. Laughter Yoga blends simulated laughter exercises with deep breathing of yoga. It has nothing to do with jokes or comedy -- and everything to do with wellness. It's been scientifically proven that hearty laughter sustained over 20 minutes provides genuine physiological and psychological benefits. Like the saying goes 'laughter is good medicine'. There is no registration and no membership. Just come along! $2 coin for participation: kids are free. The fee for participating is used for insurance and other costs and community givebacks like donations to community pantries.

We've decided to cancel the laughter session this Saturday 14 February. Rain is forecast and unfortunately the scout den is unavailable. I hope we'll be back laughing in the park next Saturday! Until then, keep laughing!

Many thanks to Marie (Travelling Zee) for leading a fun Australia Day themed session this morning. We enjoyed giving each other gifts of lamingtons and other goodies, jumping around like kangaroos and doing our classic Kookaburra laugh. It was wonderful to have so many people join in too!

Thank you Sascha Rixon for leading another wonderful session today on the theme of 'living your best life'. We breathed in our lavender pillows, drank our healthy green laughter smoothies and did plenty of different exercises with much laughter. It was great to welcome four newbies too!
