The Gap Laughter Club

The Gap Laughter Club The Gap Laughter Club in Brisbane is part of the Happydemic sweeping the world. It was established in 2016. June completed her training in 2018.

We create a hub of joy and wellbeing practising laughter yoga in Walton Bridge Reserve, Waterworks Road, The Gap, Brisbane, every Saturday morning. The Gap Laughter Club in Brisbane is a not for profit community-based volunteer-led social group practising Laughter Yoga. The Gap Laughter Club's coordinator is Certified Laughter Yoga Leader June Lennie. Laughter Yoga blends simulated laughter exercises with deep breathing of yoga. It has nothing to do with jokes or comedy -- and everything to do with wellness. It's been scientifically proven that hearty laughter sustained over 20 minutes provides genuine physiological and psychological benefits. Like the saying goes 'laughter is good medicine'. There is no registration and no membership. Just come along! $2 coin for participation: kids are free. The fee for participating is used for insurance and other costs and community givebacks like donations to community pantries.

Join our lovely leader June this Saturday 7 March at 8.50am for a 9am start. We'll enjoy some uplifting and fun laughter yoga, relaxing deep breathing and making great social connections. All ages and abilities welcome! (a chair can be provided). If the weather is fine we should be at Walton Bridge Reserve, Waterworks Road (driveway across the road from Jevons Street). If it's raining we'll relocate to the large shelter shed in the park after the bridge. Look for our yellow flag. BYO bottled water. $2 per person. Kids are free. Meet for a cuppa afterwards at Cafe Tara The Gap.

Members of our club had a wonderful time this morning at an International Women's Day event hosted by Communify. It was great to see everyone enthusiasticly joining in a fun laughter yoga session. Many thanks to Leanne Patricia Langley, Marlene Adams Fegan, Mei Mei Clair and Diane Hawke for coming along to support me (I was a bit nervous leading such a big group for the first time!)
