As the year comes to a close, reflection can help us make sense of what we’ve lived through, not to judge it, but to understand it.

These prompts are an invitation to pause, notice, and acknowledge the parts of yourself that carried you through this year, seen and unseen.

There’s no right way to reflect. Take what resonates, leave what doesn’t, and move into the new year with a little more clarity and compassion for yourself.

Christmas is often portrayed as joyful and full, but for many, it can also bring grief, loneliness, or reminders of what has changed.

If this season feels difficult, you’re not alone, and there is nothing wrong with you for feeling this way. Grief, longing, and mixed emotions are natural responses to loss, separation, and transition.

You are allowed to move through the holidays in a way that honours your needs, whether that means resting, keeping things simple, or stepping back from expectations.

Sending love to everyone this holiday season.

The holidays don’t have to be another checklist you push yourself through.

If this season is starting to feel heavy or full of “shoulds,” it might be a sign to pause and focus on what actually supports you right now.

Rewriting your to-do list isn’t about lowering the bar.
It’s about protecting your energy, sharing the load, and making space for rest, connection, and care.

As the year wraps up, it’s worth remembering there’s no one ‘right’ way to do this season ❤️

Supporting Teens After the Social Media Ban

With the new age restrictions now in place, many under-16s have suddenly lost access to their social apps, and for some, this can feel like a major loss of connection.

A few ways to support your teen as they adjust:
✔️ Validate that this is a big change.
✔️ Help them stay connected through calls, messages, or in-person catch-ups.
✔️ Talk about online safety and healthy digital habits.
✔️ Set screen-time boundaries together so they don’t feel alone in the transition.
If your teen is struggling, we’re here to help.

The holiday season can bring a lot of pressure to be cheerful, keep up with plans, show up for everyone, and somehow make everything feel “perfect.”

This year, try swapping the self-critical “Grinch” voice for a more compassionate “Elf” one.

Here are a few gentle ways to bring in more kindness toward yourself this season:

🔹Notice the harsh thoughts: When the inner critic shows up, try saying, “Ah, that’s the Grinch talking.” Simply naming it can soften the intensity.
🔹Set ‘elf-sized’ expectations: You don’t need a flawless holiday. Choose the one or two things that genuinely matter to you and let the rest be simple.
🔹Find small pockets of joy: A quiet cup of coffee, a walk, your favourite holiday song or movie, tiny pauses still count.
🔹Celebrate what is going well: Write down one small win each day and let yourself feel proud. You’re doing more than you give yourself credit for.
🔹Offer yourself the kindness you’d offer someone you care about: If you wouldn’t say it to them, it probably doesn’t belong in your self-talk either.

A gentle reminder: you don’t have to be perfect to make the holidays meaningful. Presence over perfection, always.
