Blue Kite is dedicated to a person-centred approach, founded to enhance the disability industry. We view ourselves as energetic trailblazers, a family-run business with deep personal connections to the disability sector. Our dream is to inspire and uplift both participants and staff, fostering a culture of happiness and well-being. We work collaboratively with clients, families and support networks to offer support services that promote independence, inclusion, and community participation. 🌿 Simple DIY Body Scrub 🌿

Carol-Ann and her awesome support worker Grace have been making these cute homemade body scrubs, and they were too good not to share.

Super simple recipe:
• 1 cup sugar
• ½ cup coconut oil
• A few drops of your favourite essential oil

Mix, pop into a jar and decorate however you like.

A fun little activity and a lovely self-care treat at the end.

🐣 Blue Kite Easter Egg Hunt! 🪁

We’re getting everyone together for a fun morning at Laurel Bank Park with games, prizes, egg decorating, morning tea and of course the egg hunt.

📅 Tuesday 7 April
⏰ 10am - 1pm

Participants, families, support workers and friends of the Blue Kite community are welcome.

Please RSVP by 27th March so we can hide enough eggs 🐰

That’s one reason consistent support workers matter so much -when rapport builds, people often feel more confident trying new things, going out into the community and building independence.

Meet Hannah, one of the caring, capable people who keep our Blue Kite culture so strong! 💪

Hannah's always loved helping people, and she found her way into support work during COVID when she finally chased a long-held interest. She jumped in with both feet and hasn't looked back since.

What really lights her up are those quiet, meaningful wins - like a family sharing how their loved one is opening up, trying new things, and feeling more connected at home. The everyday progress is what keeps her motivated.

As our Community & Operations Coordinator, she's the behind-the-scenes glue: sorting rosters so the team gets proper breaks (she knows you can't pour from an empty cup), keeping participant supports consistent and flexible, updating care plans, fixing issues fast, and jumping in on the floor herself when needed. Her goal is for everyone - team or participants - to feel heard and properly supported.

Off the clock, you'd catch her at festivals or concerts, enjoying beach, roller-skating, chilling with her partner and their super cute dog... or lost in her LEGO room (whole room dedicated, collection growing fast...don't get her started!) 😅

What Blue Kite means to her:
“Supporting a culture that truly values work–life balance. Well-rested, supported staff show up as their best - and that makes all the difference for our participants. I plan every roster with that in mind, because sustainable support starts with a supported team.”

Needless to say, we are very grateful to have Hannah as part of Blue Kite! 🪁💙

With Easter just around the corner, we’re excited to share our Rise Together Holiday Program this April!

We’ve planned a range of fun, inclusive outings for people of all ages and abilities, including:

🐰 Easter Egg Hunt (Free)
🦘 Ipswich Nature Centre (just $2)
🎳 Sunset Super Bowl
…and more adventures like Dreamworld, SummerLand Camels, Murphy’s Creek Escape, and our very own Amazing Race!

All activities are run in small groups by our experienced Blue Kite support workers, with transport options available and a strong focus on connection, confidence, and fun 💛
