I am a Registered Nurse of 43 years with a varied career and skills.

I run my own business providing Clinical Nursing to both NDIS and Aged Care Clients. I travel to within 100 kms from my base in Tweed Heads.

Hi All, we are still seeing plenty of posts about people still needing assistance. The info in these 2 pictures may help for a range of services.
There is still 100's of NSW Rural Fire Service personnel in the region doing wash outs and helping in any way possible and working closely with the Army. Call 137788 for help and support including registering for clean out/wash out jobs.

Hi Everyone.

My business has been on hold for the last few weeks, as I have been unable to reach my clients due to the flood.

Back on track with some from today, down Tweed way.

So instead of my Nurses Veil, I’ve been wearing my Chiefs hat, as I have tried to coordinate services needed in my flood affected area.

With no power for days, recent dodgy internet and phone, no central meeting place, flood and land slips on roads. Bridges and causeways damaged……… This has been difficult.

We have done our best by “word of mouth” and due to some amazing donations, got fresh food and meat to those in need, plus more.

There is still much to repair in our area but most people now have access to Murwillumbah fuel and food.

We have much to do, to improve our responses for next time.

My “Kunghur Community Hall Action Group”, met with Council yesterday, after a two year delay with Covid and Council staffing. I think the message got through how important it is to have access to this space, especially in an emergency.

Now that power is back on, our “Caldera Community Emergency Support “ fb page, is back giving the community vital information.

I have met some wonderful people the last week, who came out and got helping. These events really do bring out the very best in most.
