📣2025 RGA Weekend Workshop

Each year, our Rural Generalist Advanced Trainees come together for an unforgettable weekend of connection, learning, and hands-on experience.
This dynamic workshop is a highlight of the year — a chance for trainees to refine their skills in Neonatal resuscitation and participate in the Pre-Hospital Emergency Course (PHEC).

Alongside these immersive sessions, our clinical leads guide engaging discussions on consolidation of skills and the unique challenges of rural practice, sharing their wealth of knowledge and real-world insights.

It’s always an inspiring and energising weekend and we thank ACRRM, the NeoResus team, and our hosts at Mercure Ballarat.

We had a fantastic time hosting the Victorian Rural Generalist Program (VRGP) Lunch for our 4C medical students currently on their general practice rotations in and . Over great food and even greater conversation, students got an insightful overview of rural generalism as a career pathway.

A huge thank you to our speakers, Dr Noah Pallot, who shared his journey with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM), and Dr Jacqueline McDonnell, who highlighted the RACGP pathway.

Our final region to be showcased in our webinar series is Barwon South West.
The South West Region of Victoria is a vibrant blend of lush farmland, dramatic coastline, and thriving communities. Stretching from Geelong to Colac and along the iconic Great Ocean Road, it’s home to lively hubs like Warrnambool and the historic charm of Port Fairy.
This region dazzles with its legendary beaches, rivers, and national parks-perfect for surfing, swimming, hiking, or a peaceful nature walk.
Dedicated training support and mentorship is provided for a hands-on training approach in the larger hospital centres, with the opportunity to rotate out to local GP practices, working alongside experienced Rural Generalists in the region.
