While smoking isn't as common in Australia as it has been in previous years, it is still important to know that smoking is a significant independent risk factor for cervical cancer, and there absolutely is a wide body of research that demonstrates this.

Smoking is addictive and can help fill voids or gaps in our life. When moving to reduc eyour smoking habits or to quit them, it can be worthwhile to look at home smoking came about for you, how it is a habit and what potential void you may be filling.

Do you feel satisfied in life? or maybe out of flow? Or, maybe consider in which ways smoking currently serves you and also how it doesn't serve you. Asking some good questions about the smoking as a habit can uncover some more meaningful work which will also support your immune system to do it's best work.

Over the last 2 months I've been doing some reading and listening. These have been 3 great reads/listens for the following reasons...
1. The history of cervical cancer and cervical lesions and their social connections aren't exactly accurate of what truly is in modern medicine.
2. Inspiration that making changes to the way we eat and interact in our environment makes a positive difference - Louise Hay is testament to that. In fact, many people who look at the body as energy and energy interactions notice that our thoughts impact our body and our immune system, so why not maximise it?
3. The impact of gardasil and its apparent link to stopping cervical cancer but this is a longitudinal study not actually completed. Anyway, this view looks at how and the influences of this vaccine being used against cervical cancer which is actually not true as not all cervical cancer is a result of HPV which the vaccine protects against and not all HPV cervical cancers are as a result of the strains in the vaccine. Pro vaccine or anti vaccine, it was an interesting historical review of the research into HPV and it was eye opening how it also included facts about the Pill and its influence on HPV expression.

With that being said and done, understanding the history or cervical cancer treatments has left me in complete gratitude that medicine is where it is and complete sadness for all of the experimental work on women and in their most vulnerable and personal spaces, the labelling of women in this process and the way they were treated as if this disease was a result of their sexual activities. Truly grateful that we can make a change of the societal perceptions as a whole now.

"The body's immune response is now known to be directly affected by an individual's emotional state. One's emotional state is affected directly by one's self-love or lack thereof. In both women and men, the reproductive organs are a prime area in which lack of self-love and self-acceptance is expressed somatically."

Studies and research papers - do you love them or hate them?

Personally, I love to read a good study/research paper. After doing my fair share of research work at University in Midwifery and Occupational Therapy I am confident I'm not just a chich who looks at google, I actually love to read medical texts and research articles!

So, over the coming weeks I will be sharing with you some of the studies and information I read, plus their resources so you can save yourself the big read and just cut to the chase of what the study found out. Of course, this will be all about the cervix, HPV, cervical lesions.... because did you know, there are so many names for this because there are 3 different systems of grading cervical lesions in the world? That's another fun fact!

🤯Did you know? 🤯Long term combined oral contraceptive use is a well established risk factor for cervical cancer. Among current pill users, the risk of invasive cervical cancer increased with duration of use and declined after use ceased. After 10 or more years of discontinued pill use, it is estimated that relative risk returns to women who have never used combined oral contraceptive pill 💛🌻💛

🤯Cervical dysplasia as a business. 🤯

I found a research report on market trends of cervical dysplasia.

📈Treatment market.
📉Trends
📊Value of market
💸Market contributors
🪜Leveraging

These all sound like marketing words.

And as we all know disease is a business.

Even market researchers evaluate the market to find out information for the key suppliers.

👍👎Is this good or bad?
😀☹️Helpful or not?
🤔🤔🤔And if you can't decide swap out cervical dysplasia for the health condition you have. Try that one one for size 😵‍💫
