📢 Heads up, NDIS participants and families! 📢
Big changes to NDIS funding are kicking in THIS MONDAY, May 19, 2025, for all new and reassessed plans. Instead of getting your full funding upfront, it will now be released in stages called "funding periods." These changes are part of updates to Section 33 of the NDIS Act and will be implemented through the PACE system.
🤔 Wondering what this means for you? Here's a quick rundown:
* Staged Funding: New plans will have funding released in set intervals.
* Existing Plans Unaffected (For Now): If you already have a plan, these changes won't apply until your next reassessment.
* Plan Management is Key: You and your Plan Manager/Support Coordinator can see all the details in the NDIS portal. They will also play a key role in explaining these changes.
It's important to understand how these changes will affect you, your plan management, and service agreements! While the total funding amount remains the same, the changes impact how frequently and in what amounts the funding becomes available.
➡️ Here's what YOU can do:
🗣️ 1. Speak up at your planning meeting! If you need more upfront funding for specific supports, make sure your planner knows.
🧐 2. Check your service agreements to ensure they align with these new funding periods.
📞 3. Ask for help early! If your needs change, reach out for a plan reassessment.
