Local Stars to Shine at National Dementia Conference!

We are proud to announce that our very own Pauline Lawrence, Social Worker (GEM and Palliative Care Units), and Leanne Egan, Allied Health Assistant, were selected to speak at the Dementia + Recreation National Conference in May.

This is the first time the conference panel has accepted a reminiscing paper from an inpatient setting. Pauline and Leanne presented on the Mercy Health Albury - Social Activity Reminiscing Group from our GEM Unit, specifically focusing into the valuable lessons and learnings from the implementation of our Social Activities Reminiscing Group (SARG) initiative. The SARG program was designed to create a social environment with the aim of potentially improving mood, social interactions, safety, and overall well-being for our patients.

The Dementia + Recreation National Conference is renowned for bringing together leading Recreation, Lifestyle, Allied Health, and other professionals dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with dementia.

Join us in congratulating Pauline and Leanne on this opportunity to share their expertise and represent Mercy Health Albury on a national stage.

A special wedding in Mercy Health Albury’s Gardens

The gardens of Mercy Health Albury became a beautiful backdrop for a special occasion today. We had the privilege of hosting a wedding for one of our dear patients from the Palliative Care inpatient ward. Surrounded by sunshine, green trees, and an atmosphere filled with love, it was a heartfelt reminder of the moments that truly matter.
