Thank you to Giarne for all your hard work fighting for both participants and providers in our local area
Yesterday a group of local providers joined me for a meeting with our local MP David Batt.
I’d not had the pleasure of meeting with an MP before and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was genuinely surprised to find
someone who was willing to listen,
who could see the impacts to our community and
who agreed to advocate for our community in Canberra.
The NDIS pricing changes are the straw that broke the camels back after years long ineffective processes, more and more red tape, price freezes and plan cuts with the ultimate cost being worn by disabled Australians.
We are not just here because this impacts our jobs.
We are not just here because this impacts our families.
This is our NDIS too.
I’m a participant and so is my child.
M than that, we feel the vicarious trauma of a support system being dismantled underneath vulnerable people.
Any one of us is 5min away from an event that could mean the NDIS is now something you need to live an ordinary life.
We need better systems
We need better paid supports so we don’t lose essential services
Ultimately we need accountability and transparency from a system that currently makes it harder for families when it’s meant to support.
Here’s our call to action -🗣️
If you or someone you love, whether it’s your business or a participant is being harmed by the changes that have happened - and I mean psychological stress, loss of supports, providers dried up and waitlisted, hospitalisation - any of it.
Go to the harm tracker - and log it. - link in comments👇
We need to know how many people are hurting
If you are in the Hinkler Electorate and you are a provider or participant - we need to know if this is impacting you

You can follow the for updates or here and I will share what else I’m doing.
Because now means now. And we aren’t being quiet til we have some answers and actual change.
