I had the pleasure of attending a very informative (and jam packed!) event on fertility preservation hosted by the lovely . Egg freezing is an incredible option for young women who, for whatever reason, may potentially delay having children, until a time in their life which is suitable.
offers this option locally with Dr Maxwell and her great team. So, if you are interested, reach out to them for more information. For example, if you qualify for Medicare rebates, the timeline of the procedure, using a sperm.donor, etc.,
And of course, I am here if you need any naturopathic support if you decide that fertility preservation is something you would like to pursue.
Yours in good health and happiness, Nadine x

Women with ADHD are often misdiagnosed and/or misunderstood. This is due in part to most research surrounding ADHD having been conducted on males AND the current DSM-5 criteria not always classifying women as well as men (due to masking, internalised symptoms, gender biases and social stereotypes).
There are many oestrogen and progesterone receptors in the brain, and female hormones are closely involved with neurotransmitter pathways (in particular, the dopaminergic pathways, which is our 'reward response').
It has become evident that oestrogen withdrawal negatively impacts dopamine. From this pattern, we can see how a lifespan approach to ADHD in women is required.
In adolescence, the vrain may be more sensitive to hormones, there is a highly activated limbic system, brain development (particularly the frontal lobe) may delayed in those with ADHD, and the impacts on psychosocial development need to also be considered.
In our reproductive years, an increase in ADHD symptoms are more likely to occur in the luteal phase due to increased progesterone and a reduction in oestrogen.
Dur8ng perimenopause and menopause, a decline in oestrogen and progesterone may lead to a worsening of symptoms. The changes in the brain that impact dopamine and serotonin can lead to altered concentration and focus; reward pathways, depressed mood, etc.
There are amazing herbs/nutrients that can assist women of all ages with ADHD. Please come to see me. Yours in good health and happiness, Nx

As women, we tend to put EVERYONE else before ourselves... partners, parents, children, pets, friends....literally everyone! However, it is fundamentally important that we need to prioritise self care. Just like on an aeroplane, where they instruct you that if required, put your own oxygen mask on first before assisting others.
Self-care is not selfish. Instead, it is an essential practice to maintain your overall well-being. Neglecting self-care can lead to burnout and affect your mental health.
It does not have to be complicated and require lots of activities. It is about the quality of the activities rather than the quantity. Having a big list of all the self care activities can in itself make you feel terrible if you do not complete the list.
When you figure out the activities that work best for you, you tend to create a routine that ensures you have self-care time.
Self-care is not only about your physical health. It can also be mental/emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social, vocational, and financial.
And talking about financial aspects of self-care, it has often been glamorised as luxurious spa days, retail therapy, etc. But, self-care is not a luxury. It's a fundamental necessity for everyone regardless of what's in your bank account. There are so many self-care activities where you do not have to spend a cent!
The first step to self-care is to start. Full stop.
You can make a list with five of your favourite self-care activities; list one or two areas of your life that you could focus more on; create a list of self-care activities you would like to try, and to schedule self-care time in your calendar now.
Ultimately, self-care expands beyond immediate feel-good activities but also includes various areas of your life and can include habits and routines that aren't always the easiest.
If you would like support and/or assistance in regards to caring for yourself in a holistic approach, please come to see me. You are worth it, and you deserve to feel happy, energised, and healthy.
Yours in good health and happiness, Nadine x
