Friday feels like a good excuse to slow things down a bit. 💗 One of our participants has been out and about on the Sunshine Coast with her support worker, checking out the Christmas lights and soaking up all the festive spirit. 🎄✨

We love you, Wendy. 💖

Sometimes it's the simple stuff that makes a moment special… like heading out on a warm evening (and it's been warm alright 🌤️), wandering around the suburbs... all lit up with colour.

Well, that's a wrap from us for the week. Have a great weekend, enjoy the lead-up to Christmas, and do whatever helps you switch off for a bit. 🎅💛

Last week we mentioned we’d be taking a closer look at 2025… now feels like the right time... before the social feeds fill up with the big guy in red. 🎅 😀

It’s been a full year. New faces, real progress, and plenty of quieter moments that mattered just as much, honest conversations, trust built over time, and support that actually fits people’s lives.

A few things that shaped the year... 👇

🌱 Supporting more participants across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie

🤝 Growing our team and local connections through face-to-face community events

🖤 Strengthening culturally safe, community-led support

🏠 Showing up for participants and families navigating change, including SIL and SDA

Reflection isn’t really about us. It’s about recognising the effort happening right across the sector, families, participants, support workers, and organisations all doing the work.

We’ve shared a more detailed recap on the blog if you’d like to read more. 💗

From launching "Tickled Pink" to expanding our NDIS support services, here's how Pink Ribbon Community Supports Australia made a difference in 2025 across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie.

Recent NDIS changes are putting more focus on culturally safe support, stronger community input, and services that fit better with people’s day-to-day lives. 🤝

There are updates aimed at improving how First Nations communities access and engage with NDIS support, and how that support works in practice. 📋📍

And it’s really good to see real steps being taken to address these gaps. When people have access to services that respect their culture and understand their needs, the support just works better. 💛🖤❤️

Our latest blog post looks at what’s changing, what it means to participants, and why it matters.

The Australian Government is working to improve NDIS access and culturally appropriate services for First Nations Australians. Here's what the changes mean.

School’s officially finished… for some it already has, for others it started today. ☀️

And however your household is today, end of year can feel like relief, chaos, or a highly unorganised mix of both… LOL. 😀

One minute you’re celebrating no more lunchboxes 🥪, the next you’re staring into an empty fridge 🧊 and getting the nonstop “when's dinner?” questions. 🍽️ 😅

As holiday mode kicks in, early morning trips to the beach, packed cars, random day plans and “are we there yet?” moments included, take it easy out there.

Some patience on the roads goes a long way this time of year. 🚗

Let's hope the next 8 weeks bring fewer alarms ⏰, more downtime 😴, some good times with family & friends 🏡, and a chance to reset before school rolls around again next year. 🎓

Some days support looks like paperwork and planning. Other days it looks like sunshine and fishing. ☀️🎣

Schapelle spent the morning with one of our participants, enjoying the day. And have a look at those grins. We reckon that's a BIG WIN! 😁

These moments matter so much. They build trust, confidence, and connection… the stuff you can’t fake.

It’s the simple days like this that remind people they’re not doing life on their own. And honestly, that’s the heart of good support. 💗

Christmas party ✅ End-of-year reflections incoming ✅.

Our team got together last week to wrap up what's been an incredible year at Pink Ribbon.

There's so much we want to share... the highlights, the milestones, the moments that made us proud.

For now though, a big thank you to everyone who's been part of our journey in 2025. We couldn't do what we do without you.

PS... our December newsletter (Pink Pulse) drops soon with the full story. Pop your email in at www.prcsa.com.au/pink-pulse and we'll send it your way. 💌

Honestly, if we could hand out certificates to every volunteer today, we would… so here’s one with your name on it. 🤝

You know those little moments that seem tiny… but change someone’s day? Volunteers do that all the time. 🌿

A lift to an appointment, a quick check-in, a friendly chat, a small bit of support that lands at the right moment… none of it is small to the person on the receiving end.

International Volunteers Day is a good reminder that these everyday efforts keep our communities grounded, connected, and supported. 💗

For us, it's personal... one of our founders, Andrew, started Pink Ribbon after watching his brother Duane thrive with the right NDIS support. 💗

That transformation... from limited opportunities to helping with kids dance classes 🩰, working a part-time job in a cafe 💼 and cooking independently 🏡 ... that's what's possible when people get genuine support. ✨

Duane's story reminds us every day why this work matters. And it drives us to keep creating those opportunities for every person we support. 💙

Today, on International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we're thinking about all the people living with disability who are smashing goals 💪, building their independence, and showing the world what they're capable of. 🌟

We reckon that's worth recognising. What do you think? 💛

Isabella had a pull toward disability support since she was 14, thanks to a close family friend who shaped her understanding of what good support looks like… the kind that’s steady, compassionate, and actually helps people feel more connected in their day to day. 💛

Isabella loves simple moments that make someone’s day easier, and she’s big on the idea that small stuff matters.

She gets a lot out of support work too… confidence, stronger social skills, and real connection with the people she supports. 🤝

A few things about Isabella...

🧵 Learning to cross-stitch
🎸 Loves rock music
🚶‍♀️ Into walks, waterholes, and waterfalls
🍝 Big fan of Italian and Japanese food
🐾 Lives with three cats 🐱
🎬 Action and romance movies to switch off at night

As Disability Action Week wraps up, today’s a good chance to look at the places we spend time in… and how connected people feel when they’re there. 🤝

Connection doesn’t need a big event behind it.

It can be as simple as saying hello 🙂, using someone’s name, giving people space to communicate in their own way 🗣️, or offering help without taking over. 🤲

These small moments set the tone. They make community spaces feel calmer, safer, and more welcoming for the people in them. 💛

If you’re on the Sunshine Coast and want to check out the last of this week’s events, you’ll find them at library.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.

Have a great weekend and remember that together, we can make a difference. 💗

On Monday we talked about how inclusion can be simple… small actions, everyday moments, the stuff that actually makes a difference. 💗

Today, we’re shifting gears to look at how Disability Action Week is also about celebrating creativity… and the many ways people with disability add ideas, and talent to our communities. 🎨💛

Creativity shows up in plenty of ways… art, music, problem-solving, routines, humour, community projects… all of it matters.

A few ways to back that in today are to…

✨ Notice the things people create, even the small stuff
🎶 Support local artists, musicians, makers, and performers with disability
📚 Share a story or resource that highlights lived experience
🤲 Make room for people to lead in the way that works for them

If you’re on the Sunshine Coast, there are events running all week. You can check them out at library.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.

Together, we can make a difference. 💗
