🌻Throughout April at Autism Abilities, we will be celebrating our practitioners, therapists, and clients for the amazing work that they do.

Today we’re highlighting Janelle, one of our PBS Practitioners, and her clients. Through her person-centred approach, compassion, and use of evidence-based strategies, Janelle created a fun and engaging chocolate-making session for everyone to enjoy. 🪺

World Autism Awareness Day is on April 2, and throughout the month of April we focus on increasing understanding and acceptance of autism. While this month highlights the importance of inclusion, we encourage everyone to embrace inclusion every day.

At Autism Abilities, we feel incredibly fortunate to support and be part of the autistic community. Every day, we witness individuals building confidence, developing new skills, and enhancing their quality of life.

This month, we’ll be celebrating the achievements of our clients, along with recognising our dedicated team who go above and beyond—not only in supporting their clients, but also in advocating for families, friends, and the broader community beyond their working hours. 🩵

Celebrating Harmony Week at Autism Abilities

This Harmony Week, we celebrate the strength, richness and beauty of diversity within our community. At Autism Abilities, we are proud to support individuals and families from many different cultural backgrounds, experiences and journeys.

Harmony Week is a reminder that everyone belongs 🤝 — and that inclusion, understanding and kindness help our community thrive.
We recognise that diversity looks different for every person, and we remain committed to creating safe, supportive and respectful spaces where every individual can be themselves and feel valued.

Together, we can continue to build a community that embraces differences and celebrates what makes each of us unique

On March the 19th, we will be acknowledging and supporting Close the Gap Day as a significant step towards promoting health equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We encourage everyone on this day to engage in educational activities, discussions, and initiatives that highlight the importance of cultural competence in healthcare. By collaborating with Indigenous communities and amplifying their voices, we take the steps to address systemic inequalities and build a healthier, more equitable future for all Australians.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and work and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

🌈 Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week! 🧠

This week is about recognising that neurological differences like autism, ADHD, dyslexia and more are natural variations of the human brain.

Neurodiversity reminds us that there is no single “right” way to think, learn or experience the world.

Let’s celebrate different minds, challenge stereotypes, and continue building communities where everyone is supported to thrive. 💙

🌟 Neurodiversity means different strengths.

Many neurodivergent people bring incredible qualities to our communities, including:

✨ Creative thinking
✨ Attention to detail
✨ Deep focus and passion
✨ Unique problem-solving skills
✨ Honest communication

When we create inclusive environments, these strengths can truly shine.

Let’s celebrate neurodivergent minds this week and every week. 🧠💙

Last Wednesday, we had the chance to be part of the Brimbank Community Disability Expo hosted by the DEC, and what a great day it was!

It was so good connecting with participants, families, carers, and fellow providers—all coming together to share resources, stories, and support. Events like this remind us how strong and connected our community really is.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for a chat. We loved meeting you and learning more about your goals and experiences.

Finding the right support worker can change everything.

At My Care Match, we don’t just fill shifts — we focus on meaningful matches. We take the time to understand your goals, personality, cultural background, communication style, and what truly matters to you.

Why families and NDIS participants choose My Care Match:
• Personalised matching, not random allocation
• Our competitive rates are well below NDIS price limits, making your funding go further
• Less stress – we’ll find quality support workers that match your requirements – all you have to do is choose!
• Cultural understanding and inclusivity
• Peace of Mind – all our support workers are screened, reference checked and fully insured

We know that support works best when it feels consistent, empowering, and genuinely person-centred.

If you’re looking for NDIS support that feels tailored to you, we’re here to help you find the right fit.
