A brand-new Australian study has just revealed that Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) – something that affects 1 in 3 women worldwide, can be treated more effectively (and stop coming back as often!) if male partners are treated at the same time.
This is a total game-changer because BV has always been treated as a “just for women” issue but this research shows it may actually be a s*xually transmitted condition in many cases.
What this means:
✅ Less recurrence (no more constant antibiotics 🙌)
✅ Better outcomes for couples
✅ A shift in how we approach BV in s*xual health clinics
I’m honestly so excited to see this change how we talk about and treat BV going forward.
But I’m also curious to how you think male partners will take this? Will they be as willing to seek treatment even if their symptoms seem dormant, but it would prevent female partners symptoms?
