Ever wondered what sort of training our support workers complete when they start?
There are many things to learn before anyone takes on the responsibility of caring for our participants.
Mandatory Compliance & Safe-guarding delves into understanding abuse, recognising restrictions, professional boundaries, child safety standards, medication management and mealtime management.
Then there is Infection Control, Insulin & Manual Handling, which includes hand hygiene, PPE and both theoretical and practical manual handling.
Our people also learn the standard of Communication, Safety & Culture. This outlines communication essentials including Effective Record Writing and Incident Reporting. But we also help our staff to understand how to best manage stress and build resilience while being part of a positive work culture that doesn’t tolerate bullying but strives to resolve conflict, first and foremost.
Then there is Work Health Safety & Governance. This component tackles Risk Management, Slips, Trips & Falls Awareness, First Response Evacuation, Emergency & Disaster Management, as well as Human Rights.
