I have written this as a reflection of what happened in my local community yesterday. 🙏💕
Yesterday’s attack at the Hunakaeah event at Bondi Beach shaken our local community deeply.
This is our local beach — where our children play, where families gather, where friends meet, where the community comes together to relax, laugh and simply be. To know that fear briefly entered a place that represents freedom, joy and connection is confronting for all of us.
And yet… what has stood out even more strongly is this truth:
Love and light always triumph over darkness. 💕
We cannot allow the actions of a couple of individuals to redefine who we are, how we live, or the way we come together. Bondi — and communities like ours — are built on connection, kindness, diversity and care. That foundation is far stronger than fear.
In moments like this, we are reminded of the importance of standing together. Of checking in on one another. Of holding our children a little closer, supporting our neighbours, and choosing compassion over division. When we come together, darkness loses its power.
Let this be a moment that strengthens us rather than fractures us. A reminder that community is our greatest protection, and love is our greatest force.
Sending love to everyone affected, and gratitude for the helpers, first responders, and everyday people who showed courage, care and humanity.
Bondi is — and will remain — a place of light 🤍🌊
