This Skin Cancer Action Week, Dr Katherine Armour highlights the importance of sun-safe practices, how a tan develops, and the risks associated with UV exposure.
A tan is a sign that your skin has been damaged. Long exposure to UV rays can cause your cells to produce melanin to protect your DNA, meaning the damage has already started.
Protecting your skin also means keeping up with regular skin checks. If you’re due for a skin check, now is a great time to book your annual review with our dermatologists. Call (03) 9826 4966 or email reception@div.net to make an appointment.
