Karinda Wholistix I help women with period problems & stress to harmonise their hormones and feel their best, naturally. All appointments are online.

Using natural medicine & holistic tools, I can help you with PCOS, Endometriosis, Painful Periods, PMS and Post-Pill Care. Karinda is a degree-qualified Naturopath, Certified Teacher in Natural Fertility Education, Menstrual Cycle Awareness Coach & Naturopathic Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA) member. Her passion is supporting women in resolving their period problems & hormonal imbalances, getting to the root cause of symptoms and bringing bodies back into balance -- naturally & holistically. PCOS, PMS, PMDD, endometriosis, hormonal acne, cycle-related symptoms, fertility & support in coming off hormonal birth control are some of Karinda's specialities. Working with these common ailments also involves working with your overall metabolism, nervous system, emotional health, digestion - Karinda is truly holistic in how she approaches you & your health. As a Natural Fertility & Menstrual Cycle Awareness Educator, Karinda can also help you avoid or achieve pregnancy naturally & support you on your fertility journey. Being a naturopath means that she looks at your whole state of health, present and past, and focuses on where you want to be. The focus is on you as a whole person, rather than just the disease. Karinda aims to discover what’s causing your current health problems and treat that cause, instead of suppressing symptoms and potentially causing long-term harm. An initial consultation involves thorough case history where Karinda gets to know you and your health journey. Using a holistic and trauma-aware approach, multiple factors that aren't conventionally addressed will be explored, including your physical, mental & emotional health; the social, cultural and environmental context of your life; as well as genetics, stress, inner work, spirituality, family history and more. During your health journey, Karinda may use holistic blood test analysis, physical examination, health questionnaires, comprehensive hormone testing & other functional tests to uncover clues in your unique case. These help us hone-in on the treatment targets that will encourage your body back into balance and help resolve symptoms. Naturopathic treatment & prescriptions may include herbs, holistic nutrition advice, nutritional supplements, customised compound powders/ protocols, lifestyle advice, mindfulness, energetic and mindset work to guide your healing journey. These are always individualised to suit you and ensure you can sustain progress & prevent ill-health in the long run. Karinda is committed to ongoing training & development in the areas of holistic herbalism, women's health, psychoneuroendocrinology, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed practice, somatic embodiment and prometabolic/intuitive nutrition for hormone health. With many years of clinical experience, Karinda has had great success helping many people discover empowered health, using her holistic and tailored-to-you approach. She looks forward to working with you to help you achieve you health & hormone goals.

I want to help women - as many as possible.

The women who are ready to break free from the symptom spiral.

The women who are ready to get to the bottom of their period pain, PMS, endo or PCOS.

I want to help women feel better in their bodies.

But I don’t want to do it if the way “through” is to help their bodies adapt to dysfunction.

⏸️ it’s not your body that’s dysfunctioning.
💥 it’s the environment that’s dysfunctional.

When a fire alarm is going off, do we endlessly search for ways to stop the alarm, take out its batteries, quieten the noise...?

Or do we look for the fire?

Do we say, “ooh, thank goodness that alarm went off, now where’s the smoke coming from?”

Your body, hormones & cycles are the same.

If they’re setting off signals (in the form of symptoms), do you blame your body for communicating with you?

Do you shut it down or numb her to no longer receive those signals?

Or do you heed the warning?

Do you receive the signal as a sacred communication from your body, say thank you, and then start curiously, lovingly investigating what that signal is responding to?

Just a thought.

We may not have so much chronic, preventable disease and poor quality of life as women if we worked with our bodies & hormones in THIS way, rather than opting for suppression, silencing or temporary bandaids.

babe idk what to tell ya, the public medical system is great for emergencies and surgery and paramedicine n’ all…

but as for the answers of your years-long hormone imbalance and period pain? 🔍

a 5 min rushed appointment with a GP telling you ‘everything seems normal’ and suggesting the pill or IUD insertion as the best option… is not the answer your body is seeking 😬

Let me paint a word picture of a different possibility for ya 🎨

Let me interpret your blood tests holistically, let me decode your hormones and pick apart what each of your body systems (and your whole being) is trying to tell you.

Here’s how I look at blood tests differently to your GP or even specialist:
✅ I cross reference your result with what we call functional ranges or optimal ranges.

Where the standard reference range that will be on reported on your blood test result, that is based on frank disease states. That is really just wanting to label you as “well” or “unwell”. Not much room for nuance.

Not to mention that those reference ranges, depending on the marker & lab, is derived from average population data. It’s not accounting for differences in gender, in age, activity level, genetics.

🤔 Also… if the ‘average’ of the population isn’t the healthiest… what are we measuring your health against?

✨ Speaking of YOU, I also look for trends in your past data, too, to see what YOUR baseline is, and to see if something is sort of heading in a direction that doesn’t align with your health goals

By using these functional ranges, there may be more that gets flagged compared to what the doctor says. It doesn’t mean you’re SO SICK, but again, we are not look just ‘looking for disease’, we are looking for the earliest sign of imbalance, for clues from your body of areas that are asking for more support, to PREVENT disease.

I don’t care if you fit into the ‘average’ population.

I don’t care if your results ‘appear normal’ if you don’t feel well in your body.

Comment ‘different’ and I’ll send you the next steps if you’re keen. Or suss out .wholistix to book yourself in

VERY excited to have the pleasure of presenting some game-changing knowledge about the power of sunlight & darkness in helping our bodies work better with my dear friend and colleague Julie Forrester - Naturopath for VicHerbs at Torrens Uni!

Your circadian rhythm is just as crucial to your health as nutrition, exercise, hydration... yet it gets totally overlooked in modern healthcare. We're here to bring this original medicine back to the spotlight!

The benefits of sunlight, moonlight and darkness are totally underrated, meanwhile artificial lighting wreaks havoc on our body clock, hormone systems & so much more.

The talk will be filled with golden nuggets and useful information for literally anyone, and it will live streamed so you can watch online!

Get your tickets here:

This talk will help natural health practitioners understand just how crucial our circadian rhythm is for entire physiology.

Hey friends! I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Sophie Kate for her new Optimise podcast🎙

Turns out to be one of my favourite podcast interviews to date! We cover some of the most important aspects of my work as a naturopath & menstrual cycle educator: why having periods is important, how to connect to each phase of your cycle, how your nervous system is the key to hormone balance, and ways to holistically & practically support yourself as a female with a body that changes every week of the month.

If you have a menstrual cycle (or love someone who does), I think you'll find a few juicy insights & busted myths in this episode. May it be of benefit :)

post inspired by a lovely stranger at the Phillip Island Woolies who overheard .forrester.naturopath and I talking about ingredients in pre-made falafels & vegan protein products, and then asked us if we knew what foods were good to avoid for endo - first I'm focusing on foods that I WOULD focus on if I was actively trying to naturally manage endo & avoid endo flare ups / prevent period pain

hope this helps!
