Do you know about Herstory?
With the passing of my dear Nanna this week and feeling into my own Herstory because of this, I’m feeling to create a themed 5-Week Journey dedicated to exploring Herstory = the journey of woman throughout time (the version of “history” which has been erased from the history books 😕)
When we don’t understand Herstory, it’s much more likely we’ll overly personalise and internalise the challenges we face in our lives as women /mothers. We can fall into the trap of thinking “there’s something wrong with me” without this larger perspective.
Having this greater CONTEXT for our female experience allows for much greater COMPASSION for ourselves.
You start to see rightness where before there was than brokenness.
Things start to make sense.
YOU start to make sense.
And through this understanding comes power & love.

Before I launched the online version of Her Space back in 2021, I shared my bigger version over on my profile…
And now, here in 2023, I prepare to share the details of the next evolutionary stage of Her Space, I felt called to offer this bigger vision forth again!
And just to let you know that the online studio via Patreon is now closed to new members — for a review/revamp but also so the In-Person Melbourne Immersions can get all of my love & energy.
Exciting times !!
✨THE VISION✨
Can I share a dream of mine with you? I dream of having a sacred space for women.
A bricks & mortar studio where instead of the class list being hatha/vinyasa/slow flow/yin
it’s summer/autumn/winter/spring to match a woman’s menstrual cycle phases
and fertility/pre-natal/post-natal/menopause to suit a woman’s different life phase.
Tears & anger would be as welcome in those classes as joy & laughter,
And there’d be child-minding with Aware Parenting nannies for the mums,
And a yoni steam room,
And dance sessions.
And a womb-like room full of cushions and cosiness for women to retreat on their bleeding days…because it would be known that quiet, solitude, meditation and rest is the best practice for a menstruating woman.
There’d be workshops for young women to learn about their cycles, and beautiful rituals to help celebrate those young women at menarche.
And all manner of services to support women physically, psychologically and spiritually - doulas, private midwives, holistic pelvic health specialists and body workers, somatic psychotherapists & coaches, wise women & elders...
And there’d be lots of plants.
& light
& soft textures
& cups of tea and dark chocolate.
It would be a space dedicated to helping women THRIVE with embodiment & empowerment education.
A space for women to deeply KNOW and FEEL and LOVE their bodies and feminine magic.
The timing isn’t right for the bricks and mortar vision but I just felt to share what I hold in my heart for the future.

Diving Deep Into The Magic & Mystery of being a Woman
Hi there and welcome! I'm Kate Christensen, Mother - Lover - Yoga Teacher.
I offer a feminine approach to the practice of yoga with the aim of helping you to love and understand your female body and to feel confident, sensual and alive.
I teach yoga classes, workshops and retreats across Australia, sharing ancient wisdom and embodiment practices that are easy to implement and a pleasure to do!
I strongly believe that soft is powerful. For too long, we as women have been denied our power and our pleasure - we have been living from our heads, disconnected and disenchanted with life, lost and longing.
But times are changing. The sacred feminine is on the rise. Can you feel it?
It is time to reclaim our bodies and align with our feminine essence for the sake of a kinder world.

A Little Of My Journey:
Yoga has been my love and my anchor since I discovered it in 2011 and had a huge shift into much healthier ways of living and a deeper understanding of life.
I have been teaching since 2013 and am trained in both Classical Hatha Yoga (500hrs+) and Feminine Embodiment Yoga (200hr).
After a challenging post-partum experience with my son Ari in 2017/2018, I sought to unravel why my traditional yoga and meditation practice didn't really allow me to thrive in early motherhood.
I had a lot of questions that needed answering - questions about my body, my emotions and my motherhood experience. Studying Sacred Female Yoga with Devashi Shakti allowed me to discover a more feminine approach to spiritual practice and to finally embrace myself as a soft and sensitive woman.
I am passionate about helping women to Soften, a process that involves:
* Slowing Down (Learn To Trust The Pace of Your Body Rather Than Your Mind);
* Opening Up (Become Receptive To Your Own Energy & Inner Reality); &
* Letting Go (Unhook From Cultural Programming & Self-Negating Beliefs that keep you rushing and unable to relax).
