At Macintyre Health, we are inspired by those who choose to live in Rural Queensland - the resilience, tenacity and sense of community that is inherent here. We are also inspired by the technology and innovation that has revolutionised Diabetes Management and how easily people are now able to live their day-to-day lives. Today we live at a moment where the majority of people have access to the internet or mobile phones - the raw tools necessary to engage in possibilities such as Telehealth, Insulin Pump Therapy and Continuous/Flash Glucose Monitoring (among others). Macintyre Health also recognises that personal relationships are fundamental to successful Chronic Disease Management and Integration of Care. Often, we find, that someone will care more about their own management when they become aware, and believe, that we deeply do as well. At Macintyre Health, we provide education tailored to each person's needs - both clinical and personal. There is no stock-standard way to manage every person with Diabetes, and a tailored approach is key to success. When you become a patient of Macintyre Health, you will know that you have a partner, an ally, someone who will respect your wishes without judgement. Even if our mission sounds big, it starts small - and it starts in Goondiwindi.

🎉 Big news for mylife YpsoPump users! From 1 December 2025, the FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus (the world’s smallest and now AID-integrated CGM sensor) will be NDSS-subsidised for eligible users.
Expect 15-day wear, improved accuracy, and seamless integration with the mylife CamAPS FX app for smoother automated insulin delivery.
💉 IMPORTANT UPDATE: From June 2026, Eli Lilly will discontinue vial presentations of Humulin® and Humalog® insulins in Australia. Only cartridge presentations will remain available after this point.
If you currently use a vial, it’s important to talk with your CDE about your next steps.
As always, the Macintyre Health team can help guide you through this change, making sure your insulin therapy continues smoothly and safely. It might even be a good opportunity to review your current management plan and discuss the options that best fit your lifestyle.
💙 Today is World Diabetes Day (14 November). Fun Fact: We raise awareness on this day in honour of the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, whose discovery of insulin alongside Charles Best in 1921 changed millions of lives. More than a century later, we continue to recognise the impact of that breakthrough EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
👷 This year’s theme is Diabetes at Work. It’s a reminder that managing diabetes shouldn’t come at the expense of your work and lifestyle.
💼 How do you manage your work and diabetes? If you’re finding it hard to balance the two, you’re not alone. Our team are always here to help tailor your management to suit your lifestyle. Because your care should work around you, not the other way around!
😉 And speaking of work… every day’s theme for us is diabetes. A huge thank you to our incredible MacHealth team who show up everyday with compassion, expertise and energy to make sure you receive the very best care. You’re all legends.
🩵 Here’s to the wins, the breakthroughs, and all the small but powerful moments that remind us diabetes is about so much more than a diagnosis.

Not all protein powders are created equal, especially when you’re managing diabetes.
The right protein can support muscle health, steady blood sugar and keep you feeling full. But some types can do more harm than good. Our APD's (Accredited Practicing Dieticians) have put together a simple guide to help you make confident choices.
