Menopause is a turning point. My body is no longer fertile, hormone levels that keep us young and healthy decline dramatically with uncomfortable physical, psychological and cognitive consequences. Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels in my body are now barely measurable. Everything I considered normal about myself has changed and still changing, however with this drastic changes comes a sense of peace acceptance of self and contentment , the journey within has never been so exciting . If you are a woman going through menopause – how have you been getting on? I’d love to hear your experience

Catering at Sample Food Festival
Bangalow NSW, Saturday September 5th, 2015

What a deliciously colourful day it was at the recent annual Sample Food Festival in Bangalow; a festival which celebrates the creativity and wellbeing of local food and always attracts a large crowd. The festival is supported by 200 stall holders, who include local restaurant owners, farmers and local food producers.

The Opentable Byron Bay Catering team enjoyed a fun and lively day with our Mexican themed food, with great feedback from happy food samplers. Pictured here are Ronit, Rick, Asha and Noi.

Many thanks to Remy Tancred, organiser of Sample Food Festival and Mary and Alison for these photos.

In Ancient Chinese medicine and Indian Ayurvedic science ,and in the Jewish tradition they constantly talk about the benefit of intermittent fasting , from one day a week to once a month . this is the yogic way of life ...and now science is trying to get FDA approval for thousands years of practice ...go figure http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/intermittent-fasting-could-be-beneficial-health

We all know that eating too much isn’t good for your health, but it’s also becoming increasingly evident that even eating a normal amount could be increasing your risk of developing various health problems and perhaps even shave years off your life.

Another good one to check Free range Eggs , the myth and the reality

RANT - Why is no one policing this?
Free range egg farms in Australia are meant to hold no more than 1500 hens per hectare yet look at this list of how many well known free range egg farms are holding up to 10,000 hens per hectare - that's hardly free range!
What else are these hens being deprived of? A minimum of 8 hours daylight per day? If no one is policing stock levels then I can guarantee no one is checking sunlight hours either!

As consumers we have a right to know what we are paying for and ethically we believe we are making a better choice that is not being enforced by any governing body.
Wrong just wrong!
I prefer to buy from local farms however when I can't make it to these farms I buy eggs from my local health food store, I breathed a sigh of relief when I saw the brand of these free range organic eggs I buy only hold 1500 hens per hectare.

I understand there will be some people saying the only way to stop this is to be vegan but please know this page is not judging anyone for their food choices, my goal is to share information to help people make informed choices.
