It’s time for collective action and advocacy - for our regional community, those on the NDIS and for allied health care services!
Brave Bodies currently services 82 babies, children and teens on the NDIS - all with complex needs and diagnoses in the South West and Katanning in the Great Southern. Our specialised care in regional WA is made possible by NDIS travel arrangements, but the recent changes will have a significant impact on our business, and many other regional/remote allied health businesses around the country.
What has changed by the NDIS?
🟣 Physiotherapy service fees are reduced by 18% in WA
🟣 There is a 50% reduction in travel fees across all allied health
The impact:
Our ability to support our children with consistency, to a high standard, with specialised staff, in community settings, in regional centres, is greatly compromised by this decision.
This impact will be most felt by regional centres such as Katanning, where currently we are the only physiotherapists visiting the town. We are grateful that we are in a position where currently this will not stop our services, but there are many organisations around the country who were struggling to meet the demands of rising costs before these changes. We worry for vulnerable children in regional centres who may lose access to services if allied health businesses cannot remain financially viable.
