Three weeks into my role with Farrell & O'Neill Funerals and I can honestly say it’s been an absolute delight.

From the very first day, I’ve felt so welcomed by an incredible team - supportive, kind, and always happy to answer my many questions (and there have been plenty!). There’s genuine care here, lots of laughter, great office banter, and a real sense of working together with heart.

I’m so grateful to be learning, growing, and doing meaningful work alongside such an awesome group of people.

Here’s my dog….Winnie the whippet. Totally not work related but too cute not to share.

Feeling very lucky

💛 A New Chapter 💛

From 2 January 2026, I will be working exclusively with Farrell & O'Neill Funerals as a Funeral Celebrant and Arranger.

This next chapter allows me to work closely with families from the very first conversation through to the day of the service, offering thoughtful guidance, continuity of care, and deeply personal farewells in partnership with a team I respect and trust.

Families arranging a funeral through Farrell & O’Neill Funerals are very welcome to request me as their celebrant.

🤍 Family-led memorial services will still be available on weekends only.

I’m incredibly grateful for the trust so many families, funeral directors, and colleagues have placed in me over the years. I’m stepping into this role with pride, loyalty, and a full heart.

With love,
Rebecca

✨ A High Tea Farewell Fit for a Queen ✨

Today’s service for Mrs D ended with the most beautiful high tea wake, lovingly created by the team at South Coast Funerals — and honestly, wow.

Not a single detail was missed.
Exquisite china, stunning presentation, and a spread of food that was absolutely divine. 🍰☕️

The care, the thought, the service… it was all perfect.
It’s always a privilege to work alongside a team who go above and beyond for every family.

— you outdid yourselves.

Thank you for giving Mrs D the most elegant send-off. 🤍✨

A wonderful event coming up for Victor Harbor locals.

Join us for an evening of reflection, solace and thanksgiving.

While this can be a magical time of year for many people if you have lost a loved one you might not be feeling so festive. Whether this is your first Christmas without a loved one, or whether this is just the time of year that makes the memories that little bit harder, the Annual Blue Christmas Service can be a time where our local community comes together to honour and remember those who have touched our lives.

Many families I support ask the same question:

“What exactly does a funeral celebrant do?”

I’ve shared a gentle breakdown on my blog - from gathering your loved one’s story, to shaping a meaningful ceremony, to supporting you on the day.

What are the chances!?! 😅

Today I arrived at Centennial Park for a service and bumped into a fellow celebrant Ben… and would you believe we were twinning in our outfits!

Almost like we planned the colour combo for the day. 😂

📸 Today is National Middle Child Day! 📸

Here’s a little throwback photo of my brother, sister… and me - the middle child holding it all together, of course! 😉

I had a quick Google and, apparently, middle children are often:

💚 Great mediators
💚 Excellent team players
💚 Independent and diplomatic
💚 Loyal, flexible, and easygoing

I’ll admit… I tick a lot of those boxes (although my brother and sister might have other opinions!).

What about you? Are you a middle child, too? Which traits fit you perfectly - and which ones completely miss the mark?

Why I Love Centennial Park

As a funeral celebrant, I spend a lot of time at Centennial Park Cemetery, and every time I drive through those gates, I feel a sense of calm. It’s more than a cemetery. It’s a place of peace, beauty, and thoughtful care.

From the chapels to choose from to the stunning gardens and the incredible team who make every service run seamlessly - there’s something truly special about this place.

In my latest blog, I share why so many families (and I) feel drawn to this beautiful Adelaide space.

The Power of Love 🤍

You all know I love a good podcast, some weeks, they fill at least 10 hours of my working week as I drive to and from services and family meetings. They keep me company on the road, spark reflection, and sometimes, they stay with me long after the drive has ended.

This week, I listened to an episode of ABC Conversations that truly moved me: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/conversations/id94688506?i=1000718538444

It features Matt Dun, who was researching childhood leukaemia when his world was turned upside down, his little daughter Josie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer (DIPG).

Matt threw his heart, soul, and scientific expertise into searching for treatments, not just for Josie, but for all children facing this cruel disease.

In the midst of unimaginable stress and sorrow, he found that running helped him cope.

Together with his wife Phoebe, they founded the charity RUN DIPG, dedicated to raising awareness and funding research into childhood brain cancer.

This conversation dives deep into grief, love, science, family, and purpose. Matt’s strength is extraordinary, but what shines brightest is the enduring love of a parent who refuses to stop fighting for his child’s legacy.

As a celebrant, I often have the privilege of walking alongside families in grief, and this episode is a powerful reminder of the beauty and strength that can be found in even the darkest of times.

If you find time this week, please do give it a listen. It’s raw, real, and incredibly moving.
