β˜€οΈ Have You Checked Your Skin Lately? β˜€οΈ

Living in Queensland, we’re exposed to some of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world β€” so regular skin checks are a must for everyone.

πŸ‘€ Watch for these warning signs:

New or changing moles or spots

Persistent red, scaly, or irritated marks

Spots that bleed easily or don’t heal

New lumps that grow or change

Moles that itch or look different from the rest

If you notice any of these changes, book a skin check straight away. Early detection is key β€” it can quite literally save your life.

⚠️ You’re at higher risk if you:

Have a personal or family history of skin cancer

Spend a lot of time outdoors or have sun-damaged skin

Have lots of moles or abnormal moles

Have been told by your doctor to have regular checks

🧴 The three main types of skin cancer:

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC): The most common and slow-growing type.

Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC): Can grow quickly and become serious if untreated.

Melanoma: The most dangerous form β€” early detection is vital.

πŸ’‘ Don’t wait for a sign β€” make skin checks part of your normal care.
Book your professional skin check at our Warner or Mitchelton clinics today and take charge of your skin health.

🌞 Regular checks = Early detection = Better outcomes.

🌞 Local Skin Cancer Check – Early Detection Saves Lives! 🌞

Living in sunny Queensland puts us at a higher risk of skin damage and skin cancer. Did you know 2 in 3 Australians will develop skin cancer in their lifetime? Melanoma alone affects 1 in 30 people and causes over 1,000 deaths a year in Australia.

A yearly skin check by a qualified skin cancer doctor is the best way to detect issues early and protect your health. Early detection often means simpler treatments and peace of mind.

What’s involved in a skin check?

Full visual inspection of your skin

Use of a dermatoscope to detect early skin cancers, moles, and lesions

Advice on monitoring or treatment if anything abnormal is found

Who should get checked?

Everyone! But especially if you have a history of skin cancer, fair skin, lots of moles, or a family history of melanoma.

Annual checks are recommended, or more frequently if advised by your doctor.

Preparing for your check:

Wear clothing that’s easy to remove

Remove makeup

Note any new or changing moles, spots, or rashes

Bring details of your medical history and family history

Your comfort matters:

You may undress to your underwear, with a modesty sheet provided

Chaperones are available

Female doctors available if preferred

βœ… Book your skin check today and take control of your skin health. Early detection saves lives!

✨ Skin Tag Removal – Safe, Quick & Comfortable! ✨

What is a skin tag?
A skin tag is a small growth of skin and fibrous tissue that can appear anywhere, but is most common in the neck, armpits, under the breasts, eyelids, or skin folds. Medically, they’re called fibroepithelial polyps.

Are skin tags harmful?
Most are harmless and mainly a cosmetic concern. However, they can be linked to obesity and type 2 diabetes (NIDDM). Always get any new growths checked to be safe.

Who gets skin tags?
Anyone can develop them! They’re more common in people with skin folds, overweight individuals, pregnant women, and those with diabetes. Skin tags can also run in families.

Why remove skin tags?

They may rub on clothing or jewelry, causing irritation or bleeding.

Cosmetic reasons – for smoother, more confident skin.

How are skin tags removed?
While home methods exist, the safest and most comfortable removal is done in our clinic using:

Diathermy or shave procedure: Local anaesthetic is applied, the skin tag is removed, and the area is cauterised. Heals in about a week.

Cryotherapy: Freezes the tag (may take up to a week to heal).

Will they come back?
Proper removal with diathermy destroys the blood supply, making recurrence unlikely. However, new tags may develop elsewhere.

βœ… Quick, safe, and professional removal – so you can feel confident in your skin again!
