When you get a cut, cells in your blood called platelets rush to the area and stick together to form a clot.
This dries into a scab, which protects the wound underneath while new skin grows.
Picking at a scab can reopen the wound, slow down the healing process, and increase the chance of infection, so itโs best to let your body do its job and leave it alone.
