Alright, we’re just going to be real…

We’re not big on marketing.
We never have been.

Our focus has always been on getting things done — showing up, supporting properly, and making sure the people we work with are actually looked after.

Because of privacy (and doing things our way), we don’t share our participants’ stories or journeys.
But that’s where all our energy goes.

And we stand by that.

Recently, we’ve supported our participants through some big transitions — including moving into care beyond our scope — and now we’ve found ourselves in a new position…

We officially have capacity.

We’re a small, tight-knit team across Cranbourne & Frankston North, and we’re ready to support 1–2 new participants.

We currently have up to 85 hours per week available for 1:1 supports, including:
• Community access
• In-home support
• Building confidence and independence
• Real, consistent support

At Empowered, we’re on the look out again for a compassionate and reliable person to join our team as a relief support worker.
• Location: Porepunkah, Victoria.
• Shifts: although regular shifts are currently unavailable, we are looking for someone to fill-in when needed.
• Tasks: cleaning, help around the home, meal prep and cooking.
• About the participant: “I am a woman living with Ehlers Danlos syndrome and balancing work and family life. Because of this, I need regular help around the home.”

Reliable, committed and friendly support worker wanted in Cranbourne, Victoria.
At Empowered, we are still on the look out for the right person to join our team and support one of our participants to achieve their goals.
• Location: Cranbourne, Victoria.
• Shifts: Monday afternoons, every second Friday from 3pm-6pm, every other Friday from 2pm-6pm. We also need someone to work Saturdays and every second Sunday.
• Tasks: assisting the participant to access the community and attend appointments, help around the home and assistance with managing anxiety.
• About me: “I am a man in my late 60s who needs support and prompting with everyday tasks and help managing my anxiety.”

Today is a bittersweet day for Empowered.
As we continue on our ever-changing journey, we do so without one of the most integral parts of our support team. Today, we farewell Emily Rayson — our Em — and it is not something we do lightly.
For over five years, Em was a constant presence within these walls. Through the madness and the challenges, she was a steady strength — a beacon of light for staff and participants alike. She led with empathy, integrity, and genuine care, always putting the wellbeing of others first.
Em was deeply devoted to improving the lives of our participants and supporting the emotional wellbeing of our staff. She mentored, encouraged, and lifted others up, taking a real interest in people and their growth. Many of us would not be where we are today without her guidance and support.
Her humour, kindness, and zest for life will be deeply missed. The space she leaves behind is felt not just in our work, but in our hearts.
While this marks the end of a chapter, it is not the end of Em’s impact. Whatever she chooses to do next, we know she will own it.
Thank you, Em — for everything you gave, and for the legacy you leave behind. You will always be part of Empowered.

Support worker wanted in Victor Harbor, South Australia!
At Empowered, we have a position currently available for a reliable, dedicated, empathetic support worker who doesn’t mind cleaning and can work flexible hours.
• Location: Victor Harbor, South Australia.
• Hours: Monday-Wednesday.
• Tasks: cleaning, help around the home, supporting the participant to access their community, shopping, meal prep and cooking.
• About the participant: “I am a woman in my 40s, living with Nemaline myopathy and chronic fatigue. My interests are psychology, gardening, art and design and I am looking for someone who might share some of my interests. I need assistance with day-to-day tasks around my home and community, as well as support to manage my anxiety”.
• About you: we are looking for someone who is compassionate, committed to providing the best possible supports for our participant, and interested in professional development. For us, a good work ethic and a positive attitude is more important than experience, and we will happily train the right person.

Junior Admin and rostering assistant wanted in Albury Wodonga!
At Empowered, we are looking for a vibrant, hardworking and reliable person to join our team and support staff with administration, communication and managing staff rosters.
Maybe you’ve just graduated from school or university, and you’re looking for an entry into the workforce. If so, this could be the job for you!
• Location: Bonegilla, Victoria.
• Number of hours per week: 10.
• Start time: ASAP.
• Pay: hourly rate will be set according to the candidate’s level of experience.
This is an entry-level role, designed to help keep our small business running efficiently and smoothly. You will be updating rosters, liaising with staff, organising files and documents, running errands, helping with basic admin tasks and supporting our team.
All tasks are straightforward and full training is provided on sight.
