I’m so excited to share that Mindful Motion OT now offers clinic based sessions! 🎉 It’s been a journey, but I’m thrilled with our new purpose build sensory gym.

This special space allows us to offer sensory integration support and I can’t wait for clients to explore all the new tools and activities. From swings to climbing structures, it’s all about creating a fun and supportive environment for connection and growth.

Thank you to our lovely clients and families for being part of our journey. We’re looking forward to welcoming you into our new home and sharing this fantastic new chapter with all of you! 💖

I bought myself some new Squigz today. For anyone looking for a new toy for kids over the age of 3, these are awesome for building their visual motor skills, fine-motor strength and dexterity. Here are a couple of ways I use them with kids:

- Stick them down on the bench and time kids to see how quick they can pull them all off (target different skills by adding the challenge of removing a particular colour)

- Make obstacle courses and bridges by sticking them together and driving toys in and around

- Stick on a whiteboard and play dot to dot by joining together with whiteboard marker

- Practice letter formation by starting the letter at the squig

- Use them as a stamp in playdough

- Work on core strength by sticking them on the side of the fridge or bench and having the child pull them off while up on their knees.

- Build a structure and see if the other person can match it (can also take a picture of it after building it for the other person to copy)

- Have child lay on their stomach over a peanut ball and roll forward to collect squigz stuck on the ground. This also helps build core strength as well as upper body strength and stability.

- My kids also love to just stick them together and pull them apart to hear them “pop”
