Stay Active These School Holidays

Regular physical activities support health and wellbeing, forge new social connections, and help build healthy habits that last a lifetime.

With increased screen time and less movement, this school holiday is a great opportunity for children, young people, and families to get moving and enjoy being active together.

Every bit of movement counts. Simple, regular activities make a big difference for energy levels, mood, sleep, and overall well-being.

Take action this school holiday by:
🚶‍♀️Going for a family walk or bike ride 🚴
⛹️‍♀️🤾‍♂️Playing outdoor games in the backyard or local park.
🌳Exploring nature trails and community spaces
🧘‍♀️Taking time to stretch, move, and unwind together 🏄‍♀️🏊

Local care, now stronger together as Bayside Health.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for healthcare in our region. We are now officially part of Bayside Health, led by Adjunct Professor Adam Horsburgh.

Bayside Health is made up of three Care Groups: Alfred, Peninsula and Regional.

Bass Coast Health, Gippsland Southern Health Service, and Kooweerup Health Service are now working together as the Bayside Health Regional Care Group, led by CEO Louise Sparkes.

Over recent weeks, executive teams from all three services have been working closely to shape the foundations of this Regional Care Group. That work has been marked by professionalism, care, and a shared commitment to our communities.
What matters most to know as we begin is this:

It’s business as usual.

Our hospitals, services, teams, rosters, and day-to-day care remain the same. Maintaining stability for staff and continuity of care for our communities is the priority as we move forward together.

By coming together as one Regional Care Group, we are strengthening our ability to improve access to services, support our workforce, and deliver high-quality care closer to home for the communities we serve.

We are proud of our local identities and excited about what we can achieve together as the Bayside Health Regional Care Group.

From today, Bayside Health officially comes to life, bringing five health services together so more than 1.2 million Victorians can access care that’s better connected and closer to home.

For our community, this means the same trusted hospitals and teams, better access to groundbreaking clinical trials and research, and stronger networks to support your health.

Whether you’re in Melbourne’s south, the Mornington Peninsula, Bass Coast or South Gippsland, our goal is simple: seamless, high-quality care for every person, every time.

Under the Bayside Health umbrella, each hospital and healthcare site will continue to operate under its existing name, and your current local team will remain the same.

We’re excited for what’s ahead, because when we work together, we can do even more for our community.
