Christmas can hold many things, light and love, but also longing, grief, and tender memories.

For those missing someone this season, or simply moving through this time with a heavy heart, we want you to know:
You are not alone.
You are not forgotten.
You are held in gentle thought.

Whether this season brings quiet moments of peace or waves of sadness, may you find time to rest, reflect, and be exactly where you are, with no pressure to feel anything more or less.

With warmth and care,
The Natural Grace team

When we say holistic funeral care, we mean care that honours the whole person, their body, their spirit, their story, and the people who love them.

It’s a gentle, thoughtful approach that:
🕊️ Respects natural processes
🌿 Offers sustainable, earth-friendly options
🤍 Supports emotional and spiritual wellbeing
👣 Invites families to be as involved as they choose

At Natural Grace, holistic care means slowing down, removing pressure, and walking alongside you with kindness and presence. Whether you choose a home vigil, a natural burial, or a simple cremation, we are here to support your choices with warmth and grace.

This is care that sees the whole, not just the moment.

Today, we pause and hold space for all those affected by the violence at Bondi, for the children and adults who have died, for those who remain injured, and for the families, friends, first responders, and communities across Sydney and the country whose lives have been irrevocably changed.

The number of lives lost continues to rise, and the impact of an event like this reaches far beyond those directly involved. The death of a child, especially, carries a profound and enduring weight, touching families, friendship groups, schools, workplaces, and entire communities.

We know there will be many people holding this deeply and wanting to do something. If you are able and eligible, donating blood is one practical and meaningful way to offer care and support at this time. There is an urgent call for blood donors in Sydney.

At Natural Grace, in times of grief we light a candle. A candle creates a quiet, sacred pause. The gentle flame holds space for grief, remembrance, and love when words fall short. 🕯

We also recognise how distressing this news may be, particularly for parents, carers, and those who have experienced loss. Support is available, and you do not have to carry this alone.

If this news is distressing, support is available 24/7:
🤍 Lifeline - 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14
🤍 Kids Helpline (under 25) - 1800 55 1800

At Natural Grace, alongside The Willow Tree Foundation, we honour every life, every family, and every story. Please reach out for support, or sit gently with someone you trust today. 🤍🍂🕯

There is something profoundly beautiful about taking time to be with someone after they’ve died.

A vigil is a gentle pause...a time for family and community to gather, see their person again, and say personal goodbyes.

Some families choose to quietly sit, light candles, or share stories. Others may wish to help wash or dress their loved one, supported by our caring team.

Vigils can take place at home or in our peaceful Sanctuary, in the space between death and the funeral, burial, or cremation.

There is no rush. No rules. Just space to honour, reflect, and gently begin the process of saying goodbye.

We’re here to support you in creating a farewell that feels unhurried and true to your person. This is your time.

Wave of Light 🕯️
Today and every day, we honour the precious lives taken too soon.
At 7pm, we join families around the world in lighting a candle for the Wave of Light — a global act of remembrance and awareness.

By saying their names out loud, we give voice to every soul and acknowledge the love that will always remain. Together, we create a continuous wave of light circling the world — a symbol of unity, compassion, and hope for every heart touched by pregnancy and infant loss.

At Natural Grace, the honour we hold for every baby and every family we support remains at the very heart of all we do. A large part of our mission at Natural Grace is to make gentle the effect of death and we will continue to always do our best to show up for every family we stand alongside.

May this bring comfort, connection and gentle remembrance to all who grieve.

Honouring Bereaved Fathers with Gentle Presence and Care
International Bereaved Father's Day—held the Sunday before Father's Day—honours fathers who carry their children in their hearts rather than their arms. It offers space to acknowledge the deep love and quiet grief of those who have lost a child, no matter their age, or those who are unable to become fathers.

Here are 5 Tips for International Bereaved Father’s Day

1. Acknowledge their fatherhood
Even if their child is no longer physically here, they are still a father. A simple “I’m thinking of you as a dad today” honours their identity and keeps their bond visible.

2. Offer space for remembrance
Encourage a ritual, like lighting a candle, writing their child’s name, or spending time in a place that feels connected. These small acts can carry great meaning.

3. Use gentle language
Avoid clichés like “you’ll get over it.” Instead, words such as “I’m here if you’d like to share a memory” or “I’m holding you in my thoughts” can be more comforting.

4. Create community, not isolation
Some fathers grieve quietly or feel overlooked. Inviting them to a gathering, a walk, or simply sharing a cuppa helps them feel seen and supported.

5. Honour their way of grieving
Every father’s grief is unique. Some may want to talk openly; others may prefer quiet presence. Respect their pace and offer support in the way they are most comfortable receiving it.

We invite you to share their name.
