Fascia contains nerve cells, sending messages to and from your brain and contributing to your interoception.

Some fascial tension is the result of mental, emotional and energetic messages that you have embodied.

The ones that I see most commonly in the pelvis? Things that have:
- Shaken your foundation
- Violated your safety, security or vulnerability
- Interfered with your creativity
- Questioned your sense of self

Your wonderful body will step in to protect and stabilise you in ways that you may not be aware of. Until that tissue’s role is acknowledged and permitted to step back, it’s very difficult to release, heal and move on.

Get in touch with me here or head to the website for information on how bodywork and internal pelvic release work can support you.

Have you had an unplanned, emergency or in-labour caesarean birth?

Your body didn’t fail you.

Your baby wasn’t naughty.

You and your baby likely did the best you both could with what space, resources and support you had available to you at the time.

Exploring what happened involves going beyond the labour and birth, beyond the pregnancy, and into pre-pregnancy… and pairing that with what stories are held in the tissues.

I love supporting women through this - to help you heal physically with support for your scar, your postpartum body and to plan for future pregnancies and births, and to help you understand what happened, so that you can lovingly accept and then actively heal and plan for the future.

Get in touch with me here or head to the website to book your Internal Pelvic Release, Scar Release or Pregnancy/Postpartum Bodywork session.

If you’re trying to become pregnant or are on a fertility journey, I’m sending you compassion and strength.

I know there’s A LOT of information out there and it can be overwhelming.

But have you considered the position of your uterus and cervix? They both love mobility and if they can’t move, or they’re out of balance, it will affect your body’s ability to become and continue with a pregnancy.

Internal and external bodywork speaks to these tissues to release tension and adhesions, bringing the organs into their preferred alignment and optimising their functioning.

'Common' does not mean 'normal'.

Pain is one of your body's ways of communicating with you. And it's not all in your head.

If you experience pain with sex, please seek help and work out what your body and mind are trying to tell you.

Internal Pelvic Release Work is an inquisitive, respectful process of working with you and your pelvis to answer your questions with your body's wisdom. Grounded in deep anatomical study and intuitive listening to tissues, it brings understanding and release for comfort, empowerment and balance.

We consider more than the pelvic floor and low desire in helping you understand your experience. The body-mind can't be separated and the interconnectedness of the pelvis means your answer to pain may be something you haven't considered before.

The complex anatomy of the pelvis is just one place to start to seek answers and healing.

Get in touch with me here or head to the website for details and to book your session.

If you're considering an induction of labour, there are steps you can take to prepare your body-mind, nervous system and baby for the journey.

All of these methods are intended to compliment, not replace, the care your receive from your care provider. Each works with anatomical and birth physiology knowledge, and comes from an understanding of how the body-mind, energy, nervous system and baby work in labour and birth.

For support and full service details, head to the website or get in touch with me here to discuss your needs.

Eponyms - naming a 'discovery' after a person - are everywhere in the human body. The anatomists credited as first describing a body tissue often attempt to attain longevity by naming that tissue after themselves.

But language is powerful. And a female pelvis, full of tissues named after males, is problematic for overt and subtle reasons.

I've studied and applied anatomy and physiology for 20 years and (thankfully) the language has changed over that time. I've got textbooks that don't describe or identify women's pelvic anatomy accurately and I've worked alongside passionate, intelligent colleagues who use eponyms and who have never even been taught the complex and varied tissues of the female pelvis.

Be part of the change by recognising and challenging language that doesn't belong in your body. It's not Mackendrodt’s Ligament - it's YOUR transverse cervical ligament. See the difference?
