: Community Clinics (CCs) are the lowest level health service facilities in rural Bangladesh. CCs are meant for 6000 people living in the adjacent area and manned by a paramedic and a Family Welfare Assistant (FWA). Community Groups (CG) and Community Support Groups (CSG) were formed with members drawn from the catchment area to provide management support to the CCs. Thus, the success of the CCs largely depends on the role the support groups’ play. This paper reports findings from an intervention study aimed at improving the level of engagement of the support groups and its impact on functioning and utilization of the services.
