Global: 39th Every year, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) arranges a Design, Build, Fly (DBF) competition where students are allowed to use their conceptual knowledge in aircraft design and gain real-world experience in designing and flying their designed aircraft. We are excited to share that our AIAA DBF 2026 proposal has been accepted! MIST DBF has secured 18th place worldwide out of 175 teams and an impressive 3rd place in Asia-the best proposal result in our team’s history. This milestone also marks the official introduction of our aircraft, Heisenbird, which stands at the heart of this year’s mission.

This achievement reflects the hard work and sacrifices of the members who pushed through the busiest weeks of the semester, even with term finals underway. Their dedication made this success possible, and we are truly grateful for their commitment.

We now move toward the Design Report and look ahead to the Fly-Off in Wichita with confidence. Thank you to everyone supporting our journey.
