"Wellbeing is not a privilege — it is a human right, and the foundation for sustainable growth."
Guided by this vision, Innovation for Wellbeing Foundation recently convened a Strategic Planning & Sub-Sector Agenda Building Workshop under the Wellbeing Ecosystem Bangladesh (WEB) Network in Dhaka. The workshop focused on placing workplace wellbeing at the core of performance, retention, and responsible growth, contributing to collective wellbeing.
The workshop called for a bold shift from wellbeing to welldoing - embedding care, compassion, and proactive measures into workplace culture, leadership, and policy.
With participation from the British High Commission Bangladesh, UNICEF, Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust - BLAST, WE Global Women Foundation, Porticus Bangladesh, TARANGO, COAST Foundation, Psychological Health and Wellness Care Ltd., Oxfam Bangladesh , and MRDI, the workshop identified strategic priorities:
📌 Build a shared roadmap to integrate wellbeing into organizational systems.
📌 Embed wellbeing within HR, leadership, and policy frameworks.
📌 Invest in people - capacity-building, wellbeing services, and inclusive facilities.
📌 Expand holistic supports such as counseling, trauma care, mental health first aid, digital tools, flexible leave, safe spaces and others.
📌 Foster culture change through prevention, advocacy, and cross-sector collaboration.
Through participatory discussion, participants emphasized that sustainable workplace wellbeing requires collective action, structured investment, and innovation, so every employee can thrive mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Wellbeing Ecosystem Bangladesh Network is hopeful to mainstream workplace wellbeing among changemakers.
